Things have not been sailing well in case of the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 examination. Just as the UPTET 2021 Paper I is underway today, January 23, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm,Twitter has been flooded with comments and complaints by candidates under the hashtag #UPTET. Several students have posted videos on the popular microblogging website showcasing how students are not getting entry inside the exam centre owing to several reasons. Due to this, a significant chunk of students will not be able to pursue their aspiration of teaching despite undergoing several months of preparation.
UPTET 2021 – 2022 Candidates Not Getting Entry At Exam Centers
Candidates across the state of Uttar Pradesh have been incessantly tweeting about the situation outside their exam centre. They have not been granted entry owing to TWO major reasons –
# Gates of exam centre closing post 9:30 am (OR)
# Not in possession of self attested copies from higher authority

The UPTET 2021 Paper 1 is being conducted today, for a duration of two hours i.e., from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. As per state government directives, gates to the exam centre were closed at 9:30 am, preventing around 100-150 candidates from giving the first paper at several centres. Candidates are finding this practice to be unfair due to two reasons – 1. Several aspirants have been allotted centres far away from their home, invariably taking considerable amount of time to report for the exam and 2. Authorities conducted the document verification process at a snail’s pace and so, large number of students missed out on getting their documents checked before time.

While the shutting down of gates was a major reason, some students weren’t allowed inside because they didn’t have the right documents. Their documents weren’t signed or self-attested. And so, due to this minor mishap, candidates weren’t allowed inside. To bring these issues to the UP government’s notice, candidates have been tweeting the situation online along with videos and photographs.

UPTET 2021 What Does the Future Hold?
Although mishaps outside exam centres are common, there is a one surprising element about this entire ordeal. What’s shocking is that candidates across several exam centres facing this issue. If it were one centre, authorities managing that area would have been reprimanded. However, several centres facing the same situation implies a major setback in terms of administration and organisation.
The state government after acknowledging these issues, may do one of two things – 1. Conduct a re-exam for all absentees or 2. Conduct the UPTET 2021 Paper 1 again. Only the future can tell what the UP government will do for candidates who were not permitted to take the test.
