Exam Regulatory Authority Uttar Pradesh has finally released the official notification of UP TET 2019 at updeled.gov.in. It may be noted that before today it was expected that the notification will be released at examregulatoryauthorityup.in or upbasiceduboard.gov.in. However, the details have come on the new official website.
UPTET 2019 will be the state level teacher eligibility test to determine eligibility of candidates to become teachers. In order to become a teacher of class 1st to 5th, one has to qualify UPTET paper I. Whereas those who wish to teach classes 6th to 8th need to qualify paper II. This TET, just like CTET is not a recruitment test but an eligibility determining exam. As per NCTE norms, schools can only recruit teachers who are TET qualified.
The UPTET 2019 online application form will be available from tomorrow that is November 1, 2019. Link to apply will be activated in the afternoon. The last date to register will be November 20, 2019. Then last date to submit registration fees will be November 21, 2019. And finally the last date to submit the completed registration form will be November 22, 2019. That will also be the deadline to print submitted form.
Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) 2019 will be held on December 22, 2019. Admit cards for the state level teacher eligibility test will be available for download, 10 days prior to the exam.
UPBEB has increased the application fee this time. This time, teaching aspirants belonging to general or OBC category need to pay Rs 600 and Rs 1200 respectively to appear in any one paper and both papers. SC and ST candidates need to pay Rs 400 for one, and Rs 800 for both papers. PH candidates need to pay Rs 100 or Rs 200 in respective cases.
Another change, a positive one this time, is that candidates do not have to fill separate application forms to apply for both papers. Before UPTET 2019, candidates had to apply once for paper I and another time for paper II if they wanted to appear in both papers. However the fee has to be paid accordingly.
The exam conducting body has published a very useful document on the official website this time. It is by the name of eligibilities vs qualifications. Every year candidates get confused about who is eligible for which paper. But this time with this document, candidates can easily understand the eligibility.
There is no change in exam pattern. There will be 150 multiple choice questions in both papers I and II. Each question will be of 1 mark, and there will not be any negative marking. It has been decided that as before, qualifying marks in the teacher eligibility test shall be 60% that is 90 out of 150. However for SC, ST, OBC, freedom fighter, PH and other categories determined, the qualifying marks will be 55% that is 82 marks.
With today’s official notification, published in Hindi language, UPTET 2019 officially takes off. All updates related to the exam shall be available at updeled.gov.in.
