In the last 24 hours, a UPTET 2019 notification in Hindi has been doing the rounds on social media. As per it, the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test will be held on November 18, 2019. It also says that registration will begin on September 3, 2019, and end on October 3, 2019. The exam, as per it, will be held in two shifts wherein paper 1 will be conducted in the morning session and paper 2 will take place in the afternoon session.
Teaching aspirants in the state have come across this notification on various platforms. However, there is no official source for the same. Neither has any notification published in newspapers, nor is there any news report. There is no message or advertisement about UPTET 2019 on official websites as well.
It is also relevant to note that the exam date indicated in this alleged notification falls on a Monday; and usually exams of this scale happen only on Sundays. Last time the UPTET was initially supposed to be held on November 4, and was later postponed to November 18. Both of these dates were Sundays.
Moreover, as can be seen, the exam date claimed in this notification is exactly the same as last year’s exam date. Therefore all evidence suggests that the notification floated in social media is either fake, or based on half-baked information. Nevertheless newspapers and official sites can be checked regularly from now on as the registration dates could be credible, or at least likely.
As per previous reports, the PNP Prayagraj, or the Pariksha Niyamik Pradhikari, is going to conduct UPTET in the year 2019 and it is expected to be held in the month of October. Furthermore, leading dailies of the state have reported in earlier months that the registration for the exam will start in August. However all activities including online application form submission will start only when official notification for UPTET 2019 releases.
Reports also suggest that this time D.El.Ed and B.Ed first semester students will also be allowed to appear in the exam. The Supreme Court has instructed that the term pursuing can be anyone who is studying the course at present and cannot be restricted by factors such as appearing in exam or form date.
The official website of PNP Prayagraj is examregulatoryauthorityup.in and the official website where registration was to be done last time is upbasiceduboard.gov.in. Notification, syllabus and other details of the TET will be published in at least one of these websites upon finalization.
Editor’s note: Exam regulatory authority of Uttar Pradesh and other official bodies involved with the UPTET 2019 only shall decide and announce final details of the exam. Candidates are requested to check official notification before taking any action.
