The Union Public Service Commission has officially notified the new dates of the Main stage exams of Combined Geoscientist 2020 and Engineering Services 2020 recruitment. Earlier, UPSC published the revised time table of upcoming exams in 2020 on June 05, 2020. However, the exam dates are now freshly released for the aforementioned exams. As per the official website of UPSC i.e. upsc.gov.in, the main stage exams of Combined Geoscientist & Geologist 2020 recruitment are scheduled to be conducted on October 17 and 18, 2020. On the other hand, the main stage exam of Engineering Services 2020 recruitment is scheduled to be conducted on October 18, 2020.
As per the previously released revised time table of recruitment examinations, the main stage exams of Combined Geoscientist & Geologist 2020 recruitment was scheduled to be conducted on August 08, 2020. Similarly, it was notified that the main stage exam of the Engineering Services 2020 recruitment was to be conducted on August 09, 2020. However, as notified on the official website of the UPSC today, the previous dates are further revised and both the exams are now scheduled to be conducted in October 2020.
Incidentally, Union Public Service Commission was pushed to postpone various upcoming recruitment exams of 2020 as a result of the constraints related to the COVID-19 outbreak in India. The Commission conducts these two recruitment exams once a year to fill up vacancies in the corresponding government service. This year, the Preliminary exam of Combined Geoscientist & Geologist recruitment was conducted by the Commission on January 19, 2020. The results of the Prelims was declared on February 20, 2020, at the official website of the Commission. However, the main exam was delayed due to ongoing situations.
Similar to the Combined Geoscientist & Geologist 2020 recruitment, the Engineering Services exam conducted by the Commission once a year was also delayed. The preliminary stage exam of the Engineering Services 2020 recruitment was conducted on January 05, 2020. Subsequently, the results of the Prelims of the exam was also released at the website on February 20, 2020. The main exam was however delayed due to the ongoing situations. It was with the release of the revised time table of recruitment examinations that candidates were notified of the tentative dates of these two exams. Now that the official notice of revised dates is out, candidates are advised to continue preparations considering the extended time.
The admit cards of the aforementioned exams are expected around 3 weeks before the exam. Aspirants who have qualified in the Prelims of these exams and shortlisted in the corresponding results are eligible to appear in the Main exam. The main exam of the Combined Geoscientist & Geologist 2020 recruitment consists of three descriptive papers of 3 hours each. On the other hand, the main exam of the Engineering Services 2020 recruitment consists of two papers of 3 hours each. Eligible candidates are advised to keep a check on the official website for any further updates regarding these exams.
