The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for twenty-three vacancies for the posts of Assistant Director (Plant Pathology), Agricultural Engineer (Instrumentation) and Assistant Geologist. The last date for applying via upsconline.nic.in is September 16, 2021. Eligible candidates should first go through the requirements and age limits for each post before applying.
To make an online application, candidates have to first visit upsconline.nic.in and then click on the link that reads ‘Online Recruitment Application (ORA) for various recruitment posts’. Then, click on the ‘Apply Now’ button against the desired posts. A list of instructions will appear that the candidate has to read before proceeding to the registration window. Next, the candidates have to click on ‘New Registration’ and provide the required details. Follow the next steps to submit the ORA and take a printout of the finally submitted application. The application fee is Rs 25 for all categories. However, there is no fee for SC/ST/PwBD and women candidates irrespective of their community.
For the post of Assistant Director (Plant Pathology), two posts are available. The age requirement is 35 years and the candidate must hold a Masters degree in the related discipline. They must have three years of practical experience in the field of plant diseases. Similarly, one vacancy is available for the post of Agricultural Engineer in Instrumentation. The candidate must be 33 years in age and should hold a degree in Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Technology. Two years of work experience is required.
A total of twenty vacancies is to be filled for the post of Assistant Geologist in the Geological Survey of India. In terms of vacancy distribution, 12 is for the unreserved category, 02 for EWS, 02 for OBC, 03 for ST and 01 for SC categories. The age requirement is 30 years and the candidate must hold a Masters degree in Geology or related disciplines.
Based on the information provided by the candidates, they will be shortlisted for the interview. They will have to produce the supporting documents and certificates at the time of interview. The highest pay scale is for the post of Assistant Director (Plant Pathology). Selected candidates for this post will receive Level – 10 pay matrix as per 7th CPC, General Central Services Group-“A” Gazetted (Non-Ministerial). Similarly, the post of Agricultural Engineer in Instrumentation has a pay matrix of Level – 7 as per 7th CPC, General Central Services Group-“B” Gazetted (Non-Ministerial). Lastly, selected candidates for the post of Assistant Geologist will receive a Level – 7 pay scale as per the 7th CPC, General Central Services Group-“B” Gazetted (Non-Ministerial).
