Today i.e. February 19, 2019, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Civil Services Application Form 2019 and official notification. The online form and notification has been released at the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in. The last date to register for UPSC Civil Services 2019 is 18 March 2019. The preliminary examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 02, 2019.
Before filling the application form candidates should first go through the eligibility criteria. The candidate’s age should be 21 to 30 years old. The candidates must have graduation or post graduation degree in any disciple. The UPSC IAS examination fee for general is Rs 100/-. The fee is exempted for SC / ST / Female category candidates and for the persons with benchmark disabilities. The candidates can make the exam fee payment by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/ Debit card or by using the online net banking facility of the State Bank of India.
The candidates who will fill the application form before or till the last date for those UPSC Civil Services Admit Card 2019 will be issued. The admit card will be made available in the 02nd week of May 2019 at the official website. The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of preliminary examination, main exam, and interview. The preliminary examination will be consist of 2 paper in which objective types of questions will be asked. The duration of each paper will be of 02:00 hours.
After the successful conduction of the prelims exam, answer key will be released then after that UPSC Civil Service Result 2019 will be declared. The candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam by scoring a minimum 33% scores those will be shortlisted for appearing in the main exam and for those only admit card for the main examination will be issued. After the successful conduction of the main examination, the result will be declared. The qualifiers of the main examination will be called for the final round that is Interview. After the conduction of the interview, the final result will be declared. The Final Result will carry the name and roll number of the qualified candidates who will finally be recruited for the applied post.
As per the previous year’s UPSC IAS Exam analysis, it has been estimated that every year around 4 lakhs candidates apply for the IAS Prelims and among them around 10,000 (ten-thousands) selected for the mains exam. Around thousand plus applicants reach the final stage i.e. Interview.
Approximately 50% from the total number of candidates who apply, appears for the prelims exam, while only 5% of candidates get selected for the second stage (mains exam). About 20% of those who have appeared for the mains move to the final stage i.e. Interview. Among 40% qualified candidates 20% make it to the service.
