UPSC Combined Geo Scientist Geologist 2020 notification, online form released

UPSC Combined Geo Scientist Geologist 2020 notification and online application form have been released. Eligible candidates are invited to apply.

UPSC Combined Geo Scientist Geologist 2020

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published Combined Geo Scientist Geologist 2020, or CGGE, notification, and released its online application form. The last date to apply is October 15. The application fee is Rs 200 for all except females, SC, ST, PWD who are exempted from any fee.

UPSC combined geo scientist geologist 2019 is for recruitment to category I posts namely geologist group A with 79 vacancies, geophysicist group A with 5 vacancies, and chemist group A with 15 vacancies; and category II post junior hydrogeologists scientist B group A with 3 vacancies. Thus overall there are 102 vacancies.

Category I posts are for the Geological Survey of India. Whereas category II post is for the Central Ground Water Board.

The exam is scheduled to be held on January 19, 2020. Mains examination will be on June 27 and 28, 2020. Admit cards for prelims shall release around three weeks prior to the exam. First, the commission shall also provide the facility to withdraw applications, from October 22, 2019 to October 28, 2019.

To apply online, one has to go to upsconline.nic.in. On landing on the webpage, click on ‘online application for various examinations of upsc’. After that click on ‘combined geo-scientist (preliminary) examination’ registration link. The filling up of online application form contains two parts. In part – I, candidates will have to fill basic information. In part ii, candidates will have to fill payment details, selection of examination center, uploading of photograph, signature, photo identity card document and declaration.

For UPSC Geo Scientist Geologist 2020, the commission shall allot centers on a first come first serve basis. Which applies that one who applies earlier has a better shot at getting the center of choice.

The fee payment can be made either offline by depositing the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or via online through debit card / credit card / internet banking of SBI. Applicants who opt for ‘Pay by Cash’ mode, will have to print the system generated Payin-slip and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI within next 7 working days.

On the last date to apply, form will be deactivated at 6 pm. ‘Pay by Cash’ mode will be deactivated on October 14, 11:59 pm.

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Preliminary examination at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Delhi, Dispur, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram. While the mains exam shall be conducted in Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Shimla.

Candidates who clear both the rounds, Prelims and Mains will be called for document verification round in which candidates have to carry all the original documents that was submitted while filling up the application form. After the documents are verified, candidates will be qualified for the final round, i.e Interview / Personality Test.
