The Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education had announced exam dates for board exam 2018, in the month of October this year. Ever since then, students have jumped into preparation mode. Performing well in board exams is a dream for many.
As per the UP board Intermediate date sheet 2018, exams are from February 6, 2018, to March 10, 2018. This includes dates for science, arts, and commerce. The start date of exams for high school students, as per the UP board High school date sheet 2018 is also February 6, 2018. However, the exams for HS are ending sooner, on February 22, 2018.
A recent roadblock in the conduct of board exams this year is the UP polls. Civic poll results of the state have been announced a day earlier. Needless to say that it is a critical event in the political world that forms an integral part of the democratic functioning of India. However, due to most authorities being busy with election duties and related tasks at hand, a major task related to UP board exams has been delayed; that is finalization of centres.
As per reports, a final list of exam centres was supposed to be published by November 30. This has not happened. Board is yet to receive list from several districts.
District inspectors of schools were to look into objections received against preliminary list of exam centres. For instance in Allahabad, 527 objections were reportedly submitted citing issues such as lack of adequate infrastructure in school, et al. The DIOS was then to submit a final list to the board.
Until and unless centres are final, the board can hardly proceed with the events that lead to exam. It is understandable that to hold physical exam for nearly 67 lakh students is a herculean task. From release of UP Board exam date sheet 2018 to finalization of centres, compilation of question papers, answer sheets, and a whole chain of events are a part and parcel of board exams; from point of view of exam organizers. Getting list of exam centres from districts is like a cogwheel in the machinery, a very essential one. Now that this list is not yet prepared, will it hamper the date sheet?
The first and foremost question in minds of the 67 lakh students who will be appearing in High School and Intermediate exams this year is whether UP Board would change or reschedule 2018 exam dates. If so, then when will the new dates be available.
The present date sheet indicates that UP Board 2018 High School and Intermediate exams will start on February 6, 2018. Exams for high school students will be on 14 working days. On the other hand, intermediate exams will be on 25 working days.
Statistics from Uttar Pradesh go on to show that there are 37,12,508 students in High School who have registered for exam, and there are 30,17,032 students who are in Intermediate.
Of course there is another possibility, which is a good one, is that dates may remain unchanged. If the districts send in their lists quickly and the board manages to cover up the days lost, then all shall be well. However until the board clarifies about it, students are understandably concerned.
