Lucknow University may hold the UP B.Ed 2021 entrance exam on May 19, 2021. This date was proposed in a meeting of the Advisory Committee held at the university on Monday, January 25, 2021. This proposed date will be sent to the government and approval will be taken. This year too, Lucknow University has been given the responsibility to conduct the B.Ed entrance examination. The state coordinator this year will be Professor Amita Bajpai of the B.Ed department.
Further, it has been announced that the advertisement will be released on February 1, 2021, to start the admission process. The advertisement will have all the instructions to start the admission process. It will have the application form dates.
For the application fee, it has been announced that there is no increase in the fee this year. The fee remains to be Rs. 1500 for the General and OBC category candidates. The SC, ST candidates will have to pay Rs. 750 fee.
2.5 lakh seats will be filled in the B.Ed colleges of the state this year. 4 committees have been formed to start the admission process. This includes the core committee, the budget committee, the committee to purchase the same, and the advisory committee.
Last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic UP B.eD entrance exam known as UP B.Ed JEE was postponed to August 9, 2020, from April 22, 2020. Last year too, the entrance exam was held by Lucknow University.
The exam is held at the state level in the allotted cities of Uttar Pradesh state. As per last year, the aspirants should have a minimum of 14 years of age to register for U.P. B.Ed. Joint entrance exam. There is no maximum age limit for the candidates. Candidates with Bachelor’s / Masters degree in sciences, social sciences, and humanities with a minimum of 50% marks can apply. Or, Candidates who have a BA or B.Tech degree with a specialisation in maths or science must have obtained 55% marks in the degree exam. Those who are appearing for the final year degree exam in the year 2020 are also eligible to apply.
Lucknow University conducts UP B.Ed JEE for admission to 2-year Bachelor of Education course in UP colleges. Based on candidates’ performance in the test, they are invited to participate in the counselling process. About two lakh B.Ed. seats are offered for admission in hundreds of colleges of the state.
The entrance exam is conducted in pen-paper mode. Candidates need to complete the test in a duration of 03 hours. In the questions paper, candidates have to solve objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). For a correct answer, candidates will get +02 marks and there is a negative marking of -1/3 marks for an incorrect answer. There are 2 papers in the exam. In paper 1, questions come from General Knowledge and Hindi / English subjects. In paper 2, questions come from general aptitude and professional subject (Art / Science / Commerce / Agriculture).
