Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has published the notification for recruitment to 316 vacancies in the posts of forest guard, or van daroga. Online application form for the recruitment will be released in four days, on December 23, 2019. The last date to apply online will be February 3, 2020 and deadline to pay fee will be February 5, 2020.
There are 61 vacancies for SC, 14 for ST, 48 for OBC, 31 for EWS, and 162 for general. The post of forest guard, van daroga, is in the level 5 of pay matrix, thus eligible for Rs 29,200 – Rs 92,300.
For this recruitment, candidates between 18 to 28 years of age, with a class 12th pass qualification with agriculture or science, or equivalent, are invited to apply. The cut off date to calculate age is July 1, 2019. Application form will be available as per schedule at sssc.uk.gov.in.
It may be noted that UKSSSC has made one time registration mandatory for all posts. Hence, candidates who wish to apply for this vacancy or any other needs to go to the website and complete their one time registration profile first.
Those who have an OTR profile, need to visit the website sssc.uk.gov.in anytime between the first and last dates of application form submission and fill the online application form for this post. Application fee for general candidates, to apply for Uttarakhand forest guard recruitment, is Rs 300. The same fee applies to OBC and EWS candidates of UK. Candidates who have a domicile of the state of Uttarakhand, and belong to SC or ST categories need to pay Rs 150 as application fees.
Recruitment to the post of forest guard will be in two rounds. One will be a written test, and the second will be the physical efficiency and standards test. On the basis of merit in written exam, candidates equal to twice the number of vacancies will be called for physical tests.
The written test will be of 100 marks, of 2 hours with marking scheme of +1, -1/4. It will have only multiple choice questions in which there will be questions on science, agriculture related topics. Syllabus will be uploaded on sssc.uk.gov.in. Minimum qualifying marks in the exam will be 45% for general and OBC, and 35% for SC and ST.
Physical standards of the applicant should be such that male candidates are at least 163 cm tall, and females are at least 150 cm tall. Minimum chest expansion should be 5 cm. In the efficiency test, males will have to run 25 kilometers in 4 hours, and females will run 15 kilometers in 4 hours.
Relaxations in physical standards shall apply to reserved category ST candidates, and candidates who are Gorkha, Nepali, Asami, Laddakhi, Sikkim, Bhutani, Garhwal, Kumaungi, Naga, and Arunachal Pradesh Laual and Spiti, Meghalaya candidates.
