The University grants commission (UGC) has released a list of 24 universities that have been declared as fake and are not entitled to confer any degrees. Just last year University grants commission had declared a list of 22 fake universities.

To know about such a news is disheartening. On one hand, for the students, it is becoming a dream to study at good universities and on the other hand, the students don’t know if the university they are studying in or have applied for is trustworthy or not. For the students, there can not be a situation as discouraging as this one. With books in hand and high-end dreams in their mind, students, with a believe to succeed in life and a believe on the education system, try to put one step ahead every day. But because of these kinds of situations, they are not only being left much behind but also their careers don’t get justice when it is already on the line.

University grants commission had made it clear earlier also that those Universities established by a Central, State/ Provincial Act or an institution deemed to be university under section 3 or an institution and also empowered by Act of Parliament to confer UGC specified degrees under section 22(3) of the Act can is deemed to be called a University and can confer any degrees.

Section 23 of the University grants commission act prohibits using the term “University” by any University that is not established according to the above norms.

It is adviced to the students to duly check the credibility of the universities before applying. In today’s date, getting a quality education doesn’t only require good grades but a hefty cash flow also. Thus, everyone must be very careful before applying to any universities so that they do not face any such situation at the peak of their career.
