Story behind TSRTC notification 2019
There are/were around 50,000 employees in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. Different unions formed by the employees of the corporation, joined under the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and put forth different demands. To make their voices heard, the unions decided to go on strike.
However, the state government had asked the employees to not go on the strike to avoid inconvenience to the general public, that is largely dependent on public transport, and moreover so on buses. It was stated that those who will not join their services by 6 pm on October 5, would self-dismiss from their services.
It was reported that the employees did not join their services. As a result they were automatically terminated.
The strike is still going on.
Selection process for TSRTC recruitment 2019
The notification published for recruitment to various posts asks interested candidates to contact the concerned authorities for further processes.
As per proposal of the state government, TSRTC will be 50% privatized. The corporation will be 50% fully owned by the RTC. 30% will include buses hired from private owners. And 20% will come under complete private management. Fares for all buses will however only be as per TSRTC.
Right now there are 10,400 buses in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. Under the new proposal, 5,200 will then be owned by RTC, whereas 3,100 will be hired from private operators and 2,100 will be run by private companies. As per reports, the government put the plan on papers after observing on and off strikes by different unions over four decades, that have time and again put the general public life at a halt several times.
With reports split between the different proposals, views of employees and the government, parties in power and parties in opposition; the TSRTC notification 2019 for 48000 to 50000 vacancies silently became the most important question for job seekers in the state. With the notification now available, it is likely that the TSRTC will get a good response to fill the vacant posts, as per whatever decision they finally take.
