TS TET Result 2017 Announced on August 4; More Than 3 Lakh Had Appeared

The Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test 2017 Result has been announced today on August 04, 2017. It was announced online, at 05:15 pm. The link to check the result has been provided on.the official website, at tstet.cgg.gov.in. All the aspirants who had appeared for the test, on July 23, 2017, have to enter their Hall Ticket Number to check the result and the qualifying status.

Candidates can check their result by following 4 simple steps. First of all, the candidates need to visit the official website. Then, under the ‘Result’ section, click on ‘Result’ link. Next, the result login will open and the candidates will have to enter Hall Ticket Number in the provided space. After checking the result, it is advised that the candidates secure a copy of the displayed TS TET Result 2017.

As per the reports, for Paper I, total 98,905 candidates appeared and for Paper II, the number of appeared candidates is 2,30,881. Hence, in all 3,29,786 candidates appeared for the examination. The qualifying percentage in Paper I is 57.37%  and for Paper II it is 19.51%.

Earlier, the result was due to be announced on July 29, 2017, however, was delayed. Then, the news started circulating the web that the result will announce on August 05, 2017, but to everyone’s surprise it was announced a day before the expected date. Now, that the result has been announced the candidates can check if they have qualified the examination or not.

The applicants, aiming for being a teaching in lower classes (1 to 5) had to qualify Paper 1 examination while candidates wanting to teach the upper primary section (classes 6 to 8) needed to qualify the Paper 2. Paper 1 was conducted in the morning session and Paper 2 was conducted in the afternoon session.

To be termed qualified, the candidates need to surpass the cutoff scores. The cutoff is the minimum marks which the candidates must secure. The minimum marks to be obtained depends on the category of the candidate to which he/she belongs. For the General category candidate the cutoff score is 60% and above. While the Backward Class category candidates should score a minimum of 50% and above and finally a candidate belonging to the SC, ST and differently able category should achieve a minimum of 40% and above to be declared qualified.

The method of selection is that the percentage of marks is divided between performance in written test and TRT score. As per rules, while 20% weightage of marks has been given to TS-TET scores and 80% weightage of marks has been given to written test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).

If the candidate has obtained the minimum score, then he/ she is eligible to apply for recruitment in Telangana State for teaching. There are expectedly around 8792 vacancies for teachers in the Telangana State. Clearing TS TET does not mean that the job is guaranteed. After clearing TS TEST, the candidate will get a certificate which declares that the candidate is certified to serve in lower and upper primary classes. The validity of these scores is of 7 years.
