Yet another good news for TS EAMCET 2022 aspirants as it has been finalized that the intermediate marks will not be considered for the ranking process. As per the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), candidates will be ranked only on the basis of their entrance exam scores. So, the system of 25% weightage allotted to inter class 12 marks has been scrapped for 2022-23 admission. The Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2022 exam will be held on July 14, 15, 18, 19, and 20, 2022.
As per the official TS EAMCET 2022 schedule, the agriculture and medical entrance test shall be held on July 14 and 15, 2022. Thereafter, the engineering exam shall be organized on July 18, 19 and 20, 2022. Of course, through the medical entrance exam, candidates can apply for the pharmacy courses. MBBS, Dental, Physiotherapy, etc courses shall be based on NEET 2022 scores.
TS EAMCET 2022 – Class 12 Marks not to be Considered
Previously, the TS EAMCET 2022 ranking system was curated on the basis of two factors – 1. Entrance test performance and 2. Inter Class 12 marks. While 75% weightage was given to the entrance test score, 25% importance was allotted to Intermediate Class 12 board exam marks. However, last year, the state education board decided to remove the 25% weightage clause owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, the ranking system was entirely based on the entrance test performance.
TSCHE has recently, decided to retain last year’s system for this year’s TS EAMCET 2022 ranking system. Following is a statement mentioned in the official notification –
The TS EAMCET-2022 ranks will be allotted purely based on the performance (normalized marks) in the TS EAMCET-2022 examination and the 25% weightage for Intermediate marks in the calculation of TS EAMCET-2022 ranks has been waived off as a special case for the academic year 2022-23 similar to the TS EAMCET-2021 (G.O.Rt.No.56 (Higher Education (TE) Department), dtd. 05-04-2022).
TS EAMCET 2022 – Minimum Criteria Scrapped
In addition to the Inter Class 12 weightage system, TSCHE has also relaxed the minimum eligibility criteria to appear for the TS EAMCET 2022 examination. Previous, candidates had to score at least 45% marks in the relevant subjects. Reserved categories had to score a minimum of 40% marks in the respective subjects. This requirement, however, has been scrapped by the board.
The official notification reads as follows –
The minimum eligibility criteria (i.e., at least 45% of marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the subjects specified (MPC/BiPC) taken together at 10+2 pattern) has been relaxed for TS EAMCET-2022 ranking for the academic year 2022-23 similar to TS EAMCET-2021.
