Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has published a notification for Jailor recruitment 2019. The commission says that it will conduct a written exam on December 22, 2019, forenoon and afternoon sessions, for the same. Through it, vacancies in the post of Jailor will be filled in the Tamil Nadu Jail Service.
TNPSC Jailor notification has been released in newspapers today marked as vide advertisement number 557, notification no 27/2019. It contains first and last date of application form submission, exam date, post name, department name, and website.
As per it, the application form for the recruitment will be available online from October 3, 2019, to October 31, 2019. Interested and eligible candidates can apply during this window through the official websites of the commission that are tnpsc.gov.in, tnpsc.exams.net, tnpsc.exams.in.
Further details of educational qualification, age limit, reservation, exam scheme, fee payment and other details will be available in the detailed notification, that will be available on the same day that application form releases.
The last time that TNPSC Jailor recruitment, for assistant jailors was conducted was in the year 2018. At that time, the department had announced 16 vacancies for men and 14 for women. Note that the post for which recruitment happened was assistant jailor.
For that post, the age limit criteria was 18 to no maximum age limit for scheduled castes / scheduled castes (arunthathiyar), scheduled tribes, most backward classes / denotified communities, backward classes, backward classes (muslim) and destitute widows of all categories. And it was 18 to 30 years for all others. Likewise the educational qualification for the post was graduation in any stream.
Although the last recruitment was of assistant jailor, a combined syllabus for jailor and assistant jailor was released by the commission. As per it, there is a main written exam of objective type, degree standard. There are two papers – paper I and II. paper I was supposed to have 200 questions of 300 marks , to be attempted in three hours. The syllabus comprised, for paper I, of five topics namely constitution and human rights, administration of union and states with special reference to tamil nadu, socio – economic issues in India / Tamil Nadu, current issues at national level, current issues at state level.
Whereas paper II was also objective type, degree standard with 200 questions of 300 marks to be done in three hours. Its syllabus consisted of general studies with 75 questions, aptitude and mental ability test with 25 questions, and general tamil or general english of 10th standard with 100 questions.
In the previous recruitment, interview was also a part of the selection process, for 80 marks. The minimum qualifying marks was 272 out of 680 for OC, and 204 for all others.
