Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the official notification for AE Recruitment 2022. The notification has been issued in PDF format, on the official website tnpsc.gov.in. The recruitment drive aims at filling a total of 625 vacancies distributed across several posts including Assistant Engineer, Junior Electrical Engineer, General Foreman, etc. Interested candidates can begin applying for the recruitment drive, on the official portal. However, they will need to ascertain their eligibility before filling up the form.
The TNPSC AE 2022 notification contains important information about the recruitment drive. This includes eligibility criteria, vacancy distribution, important dates and schedule, etc.
TNPSC AE 2022 – Apply by May 03
As per the official notification, the TNPSC AE 2022 application process shall be organised from April 04 to May 03, 2022. During this period, a candidate must fill-up the online form, upload the required documents and pay the application fee.
The notification also specifies the TNPSC AE Recruitment 2022 exam date. Accordingly, the exam will be held on May 26, 2022, in the form of two papers – Paper I from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and Paper II from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
TNPSC AE 2022 – Scheme of Examination
As mentioned before, the TNPSC AE 2022 exam shall be held in the form of two papers. Paper I, scheduled for a duration of 3 hours, will cover questions from the degree subject chosen by each candidate. The paper will be for a maximum of 300 marks. To qualify this paper, reserved categories need to score at least 153 while others need to score at least 204.
Paper II, planned for a duration of 3 hours, will be divided into two parts – Part A and Part B. Part A shall be a Tamil Eligibility Test of SSLC standard. It will cover 100 questions for 150 marks. Part B will cover degree-level questions pertaining to General Studies (General Studies – 75 marks, Aptitude and Mental Ability test – 25 marks). This part will also contain 200 questions for a maximum of 150 marks.
The qualifying marks for Paper II shall remain the same as Paper I. It is also important to note that as per the notification, only SCs, SC(A)s, MBC/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs belong to reserved category.
TNPSC AE 2022 – Examination Fee
To apply for the TNPSC AE 2022 recruitment drive, candidates must pay Rs.200 as the application fee. This amount needs to be paid through online payment gateways such as net-banking, credit card, and debit card. Offline modes such as demand draft and postal order will not be accepted.
SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs, Destitute Widows, PwD aspirants and Ex-servicemen wards will be allowed some concession in the application fee.
