The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Tamil Nadu has started the random number assignment process today. Candidates who have registered for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2021 can check their assigned TNEA random numbers 2021 from the official website tneaonline.org. They will also receive the assigned random numbers on their email IDs and phone numbers.

TNEA random number 2021 acts as a tie-breaker between candidates. To check the same, they can follow the steps given below.

Step 1- Visit tneaonline.org and find the ‘Login’ button on the top right corner of the window

Step 2- Click on the button and provide details like email ID and password and then enter the ‘Login’ button

Step 3- Check the TNEA random number 2021 and other details. They can note down the number for future reference.

A good number of students apply for TNEA every year. Most of them have the same scores in the qualifying examinations. Hence, if two or more candidates have the same scores in the qualifying examinations, then there must be some sort of a tie-breaker. DoTE has come up with the idea of issuing TNEA random number in order to break the tie between candidates who have the same scores. The TNEA random number 2021 is a 10-digit unique number that is prepared using a computerized process known as unique number generating algorithm.

In case there exists a tie between two or more candidates, certain rules have to be followed. Firstly, the candidate who has a higher percentage in Mathematics is given a higher rank. In case the tie still exists, then the percentage of marks obtained in Physics will be taken into account. The candidate having a higher score in Physics will be allotted a higher rank. If none of these two rules is applicable, then the candidate having a higher percentage in the fourth optional subject will be given a higher rank.

If the tie still persists, then the date of birth of the candidate will be considered and the candidate who is older in age will be given a higher rank. However, if all of the four clauses fail, then the concerned authorities will use the TNEA random number 2021 to break the tie. Candidates having a higher random number will be given higher preference.

Followed by the publication of the TNEA random number 2021, the academic and vocational TNEA rank list will be published on September 04, 2021. The online supplementary counselling will take place from October 12 to 16, 2021. The entire counselling process is scheduled to end by October 20, 2021.
