Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has started the registration process for TNEA 2019. The aspirants can apply online at tneaonline.in. The last date to submit the complete application form is May 31, 2019. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2019 (TNEA-2019) is completely online, hence, no offline form is released for the candidates.
The registration process for TNEA 2019 comprises of 11 steps which are – Registering online, Login, Fill I-Personal Information, Fill II-Special Reservation Information, Fill III-Payment Details, Scholarship Information, Fill School of Study Information, Fill Academic Information, Fill any additional information, Preview / Submit TNEA application form and finally Download Application.
Now, to register online, visit the official website of the exam. On the homepage of the websites, click on the “Click Here for New Registration” button. To register, enter your name, HSC/Equivalent Register Number, mobile number, qualifying year, email id, login id, date of birth, password, etc. Submit the registration details, an OTP is sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number. Enter the “OTP” and press the “Submit” button.
Once the registration part is done, candidates have to log in and proceed to fill in other necessary information in the TNEA 2019 Application Form. To submit the registration details, students have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 500 for General category, Rs. 250 for SC /SCA /ST category belonging to Tamil Nadu and Rs. 100 (Additional) for each special reservation category. The registration fee is payable by online mode.
Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed class 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th from schools situated in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. They need not produce a Nativity Certificate for verification. Furthermore, those who have studied outside Tamil Nadu can also apply, however, they have to produce Original Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate at the time of original certificates verification at TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFC).

The selection of candidates for admission in B. E. & B. Tech. Degree Courses will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics: 100, Physics + Chemistry: 100) in the qualifying examination.
Candidates need to register only one online application for all the courses/colleges/Institutions. Furthermore, the aspirant must ensure that the details provided in the application form are correct before the final submission. Once the fee is paid and form is submitted, candidates shall not be allowed to edit the details.
Seats in all the engineering colleges in TNEA is divided into Category-I and Category-II. Category -I seats are the seats from government engineering colleges, government aided engineering colleges and engineering colleges affiliated to the Anna University. Category II seats are the seats from unaided private colleges of Tamil Nadu.
Admissions will be conducted based on the counseling procedure conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai. No entrance examination will be conducted. Earlier, Anna University was involved in the counseling as it was centralized, however, for the academic session 2019, DoTE is responsible for conducting TNEA 2019.
Anna University, Chennai earlier claimed that it will conduct AUCET 2019 for admission to M.B.A., M.C.A., and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. However, as per the latest notification released at its website, AUCET has been canceled and instead Anna University is conducting TANCET 2019. The registration for TANCET 2019 starts from May 06, 2019 at annauniv.edu/tancet2019.
