The Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry Department, Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, has published notification for recruitment to 583 vacancies of Livestock Inspector Grade II. Advertisement and application form both are available for download at tn.gov.in.

For the said post, there are 35 vacancies for SC A, 35 for SC, 35 for ST, 32 for MBC, 32 for BC, 32 for BCM, and 30 for GT.
Class 12th pass candidates can apply for the posts.
Upper age limit for general candidates is 30 years. For BC, MBC / DNC it is 32 years. It is 35 years for SC, SC A, ST, destitute widows. In the case of SCA, SC, ST, MBC, BC, BCM degree completed candidates the upper age limit is relaxed to 46 years of age.
Application mode for this recruitment is offline. The advertisement has application form attached to it. Candidates need to download it, print it, and fill it up. Following instructions given in the notification and form, one must send the form with requisite fee and documents by the last date. Application fee is Rs 100 for all categories.
The last date for submission of applications is December 20, 2019. TNAHD has instructed that candidates should send the form at the address mentioned in the notification, in such a way that it is received by the last date. After the deadline, applications shall not be accepted in any form.
A livestock inspector is broadly responsible for inspection of animals, reporting disease conditions in the state, advising livestock owners on various aspects related to animal husbandry, and such roles.

This department plays an important role in providing veterinary health care services, enhancing the genetic production potential of livestock as well as poultry in Tamil Nadu. Not only does this sector provide employment opportunity in rural and urban areas, but also acts as a key source of nutritious and balanced food by providing milk, egg, meat, and value added products.
The last recruitment by TNAHD was for veterinary assistant surgeons, for which merit list was released a year ago. In that recruitment, form submission was followed by issuance of merit list.
