Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has published notification for recruitment to the post of Lecturers in government polytechnic colleges (engineering / non engineering). Through TN TRB Polytechnic Lecturer Notification 2019, vacancies identified in 2017-2018 will be filled.
For lecturers posts, in Tamil Nadu Educational Service, there are a total of 1060 vacancies. The post code is 19PT. This post lies in level 22, Rs 56100 – 177500 range salary bracket.
As of now, the board has release notification, published syllabus, and press release. However the date of commencement of online application form, date of computer based test, certificate verification will be announced later.
Vacancies are divided between 15 subjects. There are 112 vacancies for civil engineering, 219 for mechanical engineering, 91 for electrical and electronics engineering. Then there are 119 vacancies of electronics and communication engineering, 3 for instrumentation and control engineering, 135 for computer engineering. There are 6, 6, 3, and 6 vacancies respectively for information technology, production engineering, textile technology, printing technology.
Then there are 88 vacancies each in english, mathematics. For physics, chemistry, modern office practice, there are respectively 83, 84, and 17 vacancies.
TN TRB will invite applications from candidates who have not completed 57 years as on July 1, 2019. To be a lecturer in engineering subjects, candidates who apply shoud have a bachelors degree in relevant branch of engineering / technology / architecture with at least 60% marks. Those with a masters degree need to have first class in equivalent or appropriate barnch either in bachelors or masters.
For lecturer position in non engineering subjects in a polytechnic, candidates should have a first class masters degree in relevant branch.
TN TRB will release polytechnic lecturer 2019 application form at trb.tn.nic.in. Application form submission will be an online process entirely. The application fee for the recruitment has been announced to be Rs 600 for all categories except SC, SCA, ST, PWD, for whom the fee will be Rs 300.
For the purpose of selection, TN TRB will hold a computer based exam with questions on main subject, and general knowledge. There will be 100 questions of 1 mark, and 40 questions of 2 marks from the main subject. From general knowledge, there will be 10 questions of 1 mark. So overall the paper will have 150 questions of 190 marks, and it will have to be solved in 3 hours.
