Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) will start the application process for TISSNET exam from tomorrow on October 26, 2018. Earlier, the TISSNET 2019 Registration Date was extended by four days from October 22, 2018. Even the exam date was also changed to take place on January 13, 2019.
The registration window for TISSNET will open at tiss.edu. Candidates can apply for the M.A courses until December 10, 2018, making it a total 46 days application window. Within the available time period, candidates must complete all the steps like registration, application form, and payment of the fee.

TISS Recently concluded its Summer Placements 2018-20
M.A courses in TISS are very well known for its academics exposure, practical knowledge, and superb placements. Recently, summer placement for the batch 2018-20 touched the extraordinary mark of Rs 1,02,049/- a month. The median stipend went upto Rs 100,000/- offered by 37 companies participated to recruit M.A. LR & HR students for summer internships.
TISS offers in total 55 programmes, though in order to apply for the programmes candidates must clear the basic eligibility. The comprehensive eligibility criteria are available on the official website of TISS. Still, all the aspirants must have a bachelor degree of minimum three years from a recognized university.
Once the TISSNET 2019 Application Form Released, candidates need to fill the personal details, academic details in it. Additionally, students need to select a maximum of three exam preferences and test city of their choice. Last year, the exam took place in 39 cities all over India. This year, the number of test cities may or may not increase.
Preparation for TISS exam is not so much strenuous and time taking. If students are already preparing for other national level exams then clearing the TISSNET is quite easy. The most important section to focus is the general knowledge section, scoring high in this section increases the chance to clear the high cutoff of the exam. Thus, read the current affairs on the daily basis. Last year, the number of questions from current affairs was more as compared to static GK.
One of the distinctive features of TISSNET is that there is no negative marking for any of the programme. All the questions carry one mark and the test need to be completed in 1 Hour 40 Minutes. Overall, the paper is divided into three sections comprising General Awareness, English Proficiency, and Maths & Logical Reasoning with 40, 30, 30 questions respectively.
The entrance exam is only the first step to get selected for TISS. Thousands of students apply for the exam and compete for approximately less than 100 seats in each programme. Thus to get the final offer letter it is required to clear the Pre Interview Test (PIT), and Personal Interview (PI) round for the selection. Moreover, admission in the academic year 2019-21 will take place according to the course preference selected by students and the number of seats available in a particular programme. The new session will start in the month of June/ July 2019.
