Recently, Tata Institute of Social Science has released the notification for the candidates who have registered for TISSNET 2019 until December 12, 2018. So, applicants who haven’t submitted the form before the last day can complete the online application process before December 17, 2018, latest by 3:00 PM. The new registrations have been closed, only application submission window is open at the official website.
Previously, the exam conducting body extended the dates for the online TISSNET registration for two days. So, in the case of candidates have registered for the exam but could not able to submit the form due to any reasons. Then, they can complete the whole procedure before the deadline. Also, once the application process is over, TISS will start the pre-admission orientation for SC/ST/OBC/Minority and PWD candidates. It is scheduled to take place on December 29 & 30, 2018.
While filling the application form, candidates will able to select a maximum of 3 M.A. courses. The application fee will also change according to the number of courses selected by a student and the caste category. Candidates can use the student login, in order to pay the application fees. In total, TISS offers 53 programmes and conducts one single entrance exam for admission in the new academic year. As mentioned, a candidate will only able to pursue only one out of three courses selected.
This year the exam will take place on January 13, 2019, in one single session between 2:00 PM to 3:40 PM. The entrance examination will test the students on the basis of their aptitude and general awareness. In general, there are three sections naming General Awareness, English Proficiency, and Maths & Logical Reasoning having 40, 30, and 30 questions respectively. Candidates who will able to clear the overall exam cutoff will get the chance to appear for an interview for the final admission.
For the preparation of the exam, candidates can take mock tests or practice the previous question papers of TISSNET. Soon TISS will upload sample questions on the official website. Candidates can refer to these questions in order to understand the type of questions that could appear in the examination. Most importantly, this year, there is no negative marking for any of the programme in the test.
The admit card for TISSNET 2019 will release on December 26 & 27, 2018. Candidates will able to download the hall ticket at the TISS website using the login credentials. On the examination day, it will be important to carry the one copy of admit card along with photo identity proof. Only after the proper verification process, candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is advisable that test takers keep the admit card safe until the completion of the admission process.
