TISS Postpones TISSNET 2019 Registration

Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) has again extended the registration dates for TISSNET 2019. This is the second time that the application form release schedule has been postponed. Now, according to the official website, M.A Admission will start from “Last week of October“. Since this is the last week currently ongoing, it is expected that registration will start from October 27, 2018, or October 30, 2018.

As no confirmed schedule is announced yet, candidates keep visiting official website ie admission.tiss.edu. Apart from the registration date, the rest of the exam timeline is the same.

Previously on October 20, 2018, the TISS changed the registration dates from 22 October to October 26, 2018. Admission was extended by four days and was expected to start on the scheduled date. But on October 25, 2018, approximately at 5:00 PM, TISS again extended the dates. Candidates waiting for admissions has now to wait for a few more days.

The delay in starting the registration window resulting in less number of days available to students for the application process. Thus, candidates now have to apply within the short time until December 10, 2018. Since exam date has been scheduled to take place on January 13, 2018, it is unlikely that the last date of registration will extend. Still, nothing can be said with confirmation, TISS may or may not change the schedule again.

When the admission schedule for the exam will get confirmed, candidates must apply for the admission to the academic year 2019-21. Eligible candidates can apply for a maximum of three courses and according to which the application fee may vary. TISS selects students on the basis of Entrance score, Personal Interview Test, and Interview. Thousands of students appear for the exam to compete for around minimum 26 and maximum 60 seats available in each of the programme.

TISSNET can be cleared easily if the preparation for its general knowledge sections is done sincerely. The section carries 40% weighage in the test and making it a differentiating factor in clearing the cutoff the exam. Reading newspaper daily and taking practice test helps to prepare for this section. Even last year the number of questions form current affair section was more than static GK questions.

For admission in TISS, candidates must be well versed with labor issues (especially for MBA in HR & LR) in India. Knowledge regarding this topic can be tested in any round of admission process. Also, read news and topics, development schemes, reforms, social issues etc.

The best source to practice for the exam is the previous year question papers. Taking the mock test will help to understand the type of questions that could appear in the exam. Right now, on the official website, last two-year mock papers have been available. The official question paper of 2018 will be available on TISS Website later.
