Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is organizing the Graduate School Admissions (GS) 2020. The said exam and admission process is for PhD, integrated MSc PhD, and M.Sc programs. Referred to as TIFR 2020 in short, the exam’s admit card was due to be released today, November 29, 2019.
However it has just now been confirmed from the university officials that due to some technical difficulties the TIFR 2020 admit card issuance is being delayed for a short while. While the authorities will try their best to upload the hall tickets today itself, if issues persist then the document will be uploaded by Monday for sure.
Once available, candidates who have applied for the exam / admissions, will be able to download their hall tickets from the website. To download, one has to go to the official website univ.tifr.res.in/gs2020/. Admit card download link will be available there, through which, candidates will need to login with their user ID and password.
This postponement in release of hall tickets will not affect the rest of the schedule of TIFR GS. candidates may note that the exam will be held nationwide on December 8, 2019. Result of the exam will be announced by the end of January 2020.
Applications for systems science (including communications and applied probability) on the basis of GATE scores will be accepted from February 5, 2020, and close two weeks after GATE 2020 results are announced. For admission through the entrance test, applications were accepted until November 23, 2019.
On the first Sunday in the month of December, TIFR will conduct exam in two sessions. Tests for physics, chemistry, computer and systems sciences, M.Sc wildlife biology and conservation will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, which will be the morning session. Whereas in the afternoon session, biology exam will be held from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and mathematics from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
TIFR will shortlist candidates on the basis of their scores in entrance exam, and call them for interviews. Shortlisted candidates will get intimation via email. For biology, the TIFR national entrance exam GS2020 is called the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences, or JGEEBILS in short.
