In a shocking decision by the Staff Selection Commission, SSC MTS examination of all 5 days has been cancelled. On May 23, 2017, a notification to this effect was published on the website of Staff Selection Commission.
SSC Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Examination 2016 was held on 30.04.2017, 14.05.2017, and was going to be held on 28.05.2017, 04.06.2017, and 11.06.2017. On day 1, one shift was cancelled. Then on day 2, news of paper being leaked started coming out. Staff Selection Commission had notified that it was looking into the matter. Now, even before exam on rest 3 days was held, SSC has cancelled MTS exam completely. It will now hold re-exam. MTS exam of May-June was in OMR mode. Now re-exam, or new exam, will be in online mode.
SSC MTS 2017 Exam Cancelled notice says
The Commission has taken a decision to cancel the Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Examination, 2016 in the OMR based mode for all 5 days (viz. The examinations already conducted on 30.4.2017 and 14.5.2017, and to be conducted on 28.5.2017, 4.6.2017 and 11.6.2017). The said examination would now be conducted by the Commission afresh in the computer based mode, tentatively during the month of September-October, 2017. The details in this regard would be hosted on the website of the Commission in due course.
Candidates who had applied to appear in SSC MTS recruitment exam will have to download admit card for exam again. Admit card will contain dates of exam and instructions also. Usually, SSC launches mock test also for online exams which it holds.
One need to not apply again. All who had applied for SSC MTS 2017 Exam will be able to appear in fresh exams being held in online mode.
While many are happy with this decision, several others are not so happy as they will have to prepare again and appear again. Also, it sets back complete schedule of MTS recruitment in Staff Selection Commission.
No specific reason has been given by SSC for cancelling MTS recruitment exam May-Jun 2017.
