Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started the registration process for SSC CHSL 2020 examination on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 4 pm. The notification for the SSC CHSL 2020 exam will be released anytime soon today. Candidates interested and eligible can apply for the SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level exam on or before January 10, 2020.
“Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10 + 2) examination 2019 in computer based mode for recruitment to the posts of lower division clerk (LDC), junior secretariat assistant (JSA), postal assistant (PA), sorting assistant (SA), data entry operator (DEO), data entry operator grade A in different ministries, departments, offices of government of india and their attached and subordinate offices” reads the official short notification.
The date of tier 1 exam are March 16 to 27, 2020. Then tier 2 exam is scheduled for June 28, 2020.
SSC CHSL 2020 notification will be released today. It is unusual for the commission to release application form before publishing notification. However it has happened today. A short notification was however released in leading dailies yesterday, and dates were released much earlier in the yearly calendar.
To appear in SSC CHSL 2020, candidates need to first register themselves at ssc.nic.in, from the page ssc.nic.in/Registration/Home. It is a one time process. Those who have registered can access the apply online link at ssc.nic.in/Portal/Apply, under the CHSL section. Candidates must enter details carefully in the form, and also not wait for the last moment to apply to avoid technical issues that are imminent on the last date. Applying and paying the fee, where applicable is the first step towards appearing the exam.
Application fee is Rs 100. Candidates can pay the amount through bhim upi, net banking, by using visa, mastercard, maestro, rupay credit or debit cards or in sbi branches by generating sbi challan. Women candidates, and candidates who belong to scheduled castes (sc), scheduled tribes (st), persons with disabilities (pwd) and ex servicemen (esm) eligible for reservation are exempt from any fees.

In the previous SSC CHSL exam, there were 1855 vacancies for LDC / JSA, 3880 for PA/SA, and 4 for DEO. overall there were 5789 vacancies. Whereas in the year before that the number of vacancies were 5914. This time also the vacancy is expected to be in the 5000 to 6000 range.
The commission made another important announcement today, pertaining to the SSC CPO 2019. For the sub-inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs and assistant sub-inspector in CISF examination 2018-2019, which is scheduled to be held from December 9 to 13, 2019, the tentative vacancy distribution has been released. As per the announcement, there are 1094 vacancies of SI (GD) in CAPF, 361 for SI (Exe) male in Delhi Police, and 123 SI (Exe) female in Delhi Police.
SSC has also notified that it will announce Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2017 (Final Result) on December 20, 2019 at ssc.nic.in.
