Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the detailed notification for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) 2020 today, on December 3, 2019, at ssc.nic.in. The commission released the short notification for the same a few days ago.
SSC CHSL 2020 will be held for recruitment to the posts of lower division clerk (LDC), junior secretarial assistant (JSA), postal assistant (PA), sorting assistant (SA), data entry operator (DEO), and DEO grade A in various departments and offices of the government of India. This recruitment will comprise of various stages, tier 1 that will be a computer based test, then tier 2 a descriptive exam, followed by tier 3 skill test or typing test.
Interested candidates can apply online from today onwards to January 10, 2020 at ssc.nic.in. Prior to the exams, each of the regional offices of Staff Selection Commission will release admit cards for the same. SSC CHSL 2020 tier 1 will be held from March 16 to 27, 2020. Then tier 2 will be held on June 28, 2020.
The detailed notification will contain the age limit, educational qualification, how to apply, application fee, exam centres, scheme of examination, admit card, selection process.
Per usual, the posts advertised in SSC CHSL notification are open for candidates who fall in the age limit of 18 to 27 years as on August 1 of the year of exam. All the posts barring one are open for class 12th pass candidates, hence the exam is also called SSC 10+2 or SSC 10 plus 2 exam. Only for the post of DEO in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, it is required to be a pass in class 12th in science stream with mathematics as a subject.
In the last SSC CHSL exam, a total of 29.68 lakh candidates had registered. Of them, 44.37% that is 13.17 lakh candidates had appeared in the exam. The exam was held on 9 days in 25 shifts at 361 centres in 146 examination cities, in 33 states and UTs of India.
Tier 1 exam comprises of four sections namely english language, general intelligence, quantitative aptitude, general awareness. Each section contains 25 questions and is of 50 marks. Cut off is determined out of 200.
Last time, for the respective tier 1 category wise cut offs for the post of LDC / JSA, PA/SA for categories UR, SC, ST, OBC cut offs were 135.6, 110.09, 99.09, 133.74. For the same categories, the cut offs for DEO post in C&AG were 165.93, 145.52, 136.74, and 161.72. For DEO posts other than for C&AG, the cut off was 181.47 for UR, and 178.45 for OBC.
Yesterday SSC extended the timeline to view the tentative answer key for JHT exam, that is the junior hindi translator, junior translator, senior hindi translator and hindi pradhyapak examination 2019. Candidates had requested the commission to provide more days to view the answer key, whose initial dates were November 29 to December 2, 2019, because they had faced servier issues in the last few days. Now the new deadline to check answers and submit challenges for SSC JHT is December 4, 2019, 5 pm.
