Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination from March 2 to 11, 2020. Government job aspirants wishing to appear in the exam may register at the earliest as the last date to apply is in two days, on November 25, 2019.
The facility to apply online will be withdrawn from the official website ssc.nic.in at 5 pm IST on Monday. Until then, candidates may submit their candidature by filling the online application and paying the registration fee of Rs 100; exempt for women, SC, ST, PWD, ESM.
To pay fee, there is the option to pay through challan as well. Those opting for this mode can submit the fee amount at designated branches of SBI within working hours of the bank upto November 29, 2019, provided they had generated it by November 27, 2019, 5 pm.
Registration for SSC CGL 2019-2020 is in two parts. First is to do the one time registration, and the second is to fill the online application form. The one time registration is, as the name suggests, a one time process. Anyone who has previously done it need not do it again, and simply use the prior generated login credentials to proceed directly to step two. However, others need to go through it first.
One time registration requires filling up basic details, additional details and contact details, uploading scanned image of passport size photograph and signature. Name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth should match with data in class 10 i.e. matriculation certificate.
Upon successfully completing OTR, those wishing to apply for SSC CGL need to login through the login section of ssc.nic.in. then click apply link under “Combined Graduate Level Examination 2019” section under “Latest Notifications” tab. In the online form, data in the fields with serial numbers 1 through 14 will be pre-filled on the basis of OTR. Rest, needs to be filled. The last step would be to pay the exam fee. Those exempt from fee, need not do it.
In February, SSC NR, NWR, CR, NER, MPR, ER, KKR, WR, and SR will individually release admit cards for SSC CGL exam on their websites sscnr.net.in, sscnwr.org, ssc-cr.org, sscner.org.in, sscmpr.org, sscer.org, ssckkr.kar.nic.in, sscwr.net, sscsr.gov.in.
As of now the tier 2 of SSC CGL 2019-2020 is scheduled for June 22 to 25, 2020. However it is subject to change.
The commission has been repeatedly issuing reminders of SSC CGL registration deadline. Candidates are advised to not wait for the last minute to apply for the exam to avoid “the possibility of disconnection / inability or failure to login to the website on account of heavy traffic on the servers during the closing days”. In the same tune the commission says in another notice “It is hereby reiterated in the interest of candidates that the aspiring candidates for the Combined Graduate Level examination 2019 should submit their online applications before the closing date ie 25-11-2019 and not to wait till the last date as there may be heavy traffic on the servers during the last days for submission of the applications”.
In the last SSC CGL exam, a total of 8,36,139 candidates had appeared. The tier 1 cut off was 170 for UR, 165 for OBC, 148.97 for SC, and 141.86 for ST, which was higher than the year before.
