The Staff Selection Commission has issued a new notice regarding the SSC CGL 2017. According to that, there are candidates who have asked to provide scribe, but not mentioned disability status in application form. Candidates have now been given a final chance to login and enter status of the same.

Scribe facility is allowed to only such applicants who fall under Visually Handicapped (VH) or Orthopaedic Handicapped (OH) with cerebral palsy or locomotor disability. A 40% or above disability qualifies one to get a scribe. In application form of SSC CGL 2017, a candidate is expected to mention these details if he/she comes under this status. Since many have not done so, Staff Selection Commission has opened forms for this editing, from July 14, 2017. The last date to update status is July 20, 2017.

The number of applicants has been recorded to be 30,26,598. These many number of candidates will appear for first tier, which is a computer based examination, from August 1, 2017 to August 20, 2017. There will be 25 questions each on General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension sections in Combined Graduate Level examination tier 1.

An interesting observation from this notice is that admit card of SSC CGL 2017 may be issued after July 20, 2017. This is being assumed on the basis of the fact that last date to update status is July 20, 2017. Since admit card will detail whether scribe is allowed or not, so it can be said that admit cards will be released after this date only. However please note that already the regional SSC offices have started releasing application status.

Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2017 is conducted for the recruitment officers in Indian government department. In accordance with the notice, candidates are requested to immediately confirm / update their disability status and requirement of scribe at the official website ( ). Take this action before 05:00 PM of last date. Candidates who fail to do so would not be provided with scribe and compensatory time.

All applicants who are seeking reservation, age relaxation, compensatory time or facility of scribe are also required to submit disability certificate from the designated Government Hospital for document verification. Failing to provide the relevant medical certificate will result in immediate cancellation of application. Candidates from SC/ST/PWD are not required to pay the application fee for this exam.
