Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the official notification for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2019 exam today. The SSC CGL 2019 official notification can be released anytime today at ssc.nic.in. With it, the online application form will also be released.
As the name suggests, the SSC CGL is for graduates. Various posts in different ministries, departments, and organizations are filled on the basis of this recruitment. Important dates of the exam have already been published in the 2019-2020 calendar of the Staff Selection Commission.
SSC CGL 2019 application form will be available from today, October 22, 2019, to until November 22, 2019. The tier I exam will be held from March 2 to 11, 2020. Thereafter the tier II and III exams will be held from June 22 to 25, 2020.
Thus exactly one month window will be available for interested and eligible candidates to apply. Various posts which are anticipated to be advertised include Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Assistant, Assistant/ Superintendent, Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector, (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner), Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector, Inspector Posts, Divisional Accountant, Junior Statistical Officer.
In the latest news reports, there have not been any talks about introducing any changes in the CGL exam process. Per the same, it is expected that there will be five different age limits for different posts – 20 to 27 years, 18 to 27 years, 20 to 30 years, 30 years, 32 years.
Whereas bachelors degree in any stream shall suffice for most posts, a few will have specific requirements. For instance junior statistical officer will require a bachelor’s degree with 60% in mathematics at 12th level, a bachelor’s degree in any subject in statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
SSC CGL 2019-2020 will have, at least insofar expected to have, four tiers namely I, II, III, and IV. Tier I will be the computer based exam for all applicants. With 25 questions of 50 marks in each of the four sections namely general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, english comprehension, the paper will be 1 hour long.
Tier II shall again be a computer based exam with four papers I, II, III, IV. They will respectively be quantitative abilities, english language and comprehension, statistics, general studies in finance and economics. Herein papers I and II shall be applicable for all (who have qualified for tier II), but paper III will only be for JSO post, and paper IV shall only be for AAO.
Tier III will be a descriptive test in english or hindi, for those who clear the tier II. It will be a one hour long exam on English or Hindi comprising of questions on essay writing, precis, letter, application. Tier IV is usually a skill test for tax assistant, and computer proficiency test for AAO, ASO.
In the SSC CGL 2017, a total of 9,284 vacancies were advertised.
It may also be noted that as per the SSC calendar, SSC CGL 2020 notification will be announced on September 15, 2020. Its application form will also be available for thirty days, until October 15, 2020.
