Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2019 notification is officially out. The same can be downloaded at ssc.nic.in or read in leading dailies in print format. Applications for the recruitment to various group B and C posts, number of vacancies for which will be announced later, are invited in online mode only at ssc.nic.in.
Whereas the notification was released yesterday as promised in the SSC yearly calendar, the last date to apply online stands extended by three days to November 25, 2019. On the last date, the registration link will be available only until 5 pm. As per the calendar, the last date to apply was supposed to be November 22, 2019. Other dates are same as given in the calendar.
Fee payable for filing the application form is Rs 100. Payment of fees can be done through both online and offline mode. The last date to pay generate challan will however be November 27, 2019 (5 pm), and payment of fee via online mode will also be until the same date and time. Fee can be paid through challan until November 29, 2019.
SSC CGL 2019 tier 1 will be conducted from March 2 to 11, 2020. Tier 2 and 3 will be held from June 22 to 25, 2020. Since the exam is in next calendar year, the recruitment is sometimes being referred to as SSC CGL 2020 also.
Candidates of Indian nationals, a subject of nepal or bhutan and tibetan refugees are eligible to apply for various posts. The age limit for Group B should not exceed 30 years excerpt for the post of Junior Statistical Officer which is 32 years and minimum age varies for different posts. Candidates applying for the Group C posts must lie in the age bracket of 18 to 27 years of age. The reserved category candidates are provided age relaxation as per the relaxation criteria set by the commission.
Candidates need to first register themselves visiting the website and clicking on “Register now” button under login and then fill the online application form under apply section tab.
For the final selection candidates have to undergo a 4 step selection procedure prescribed by the commission which contains Tier 1 and Tier2 computer based examination, Tier 3 pen and paper mode or descriptive paper and last stage of the admission process is the Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification. The minimum qualifying marks as decided for unreserved category is 30%, for OBC/EWS it is 25% and for others it is further reduced to 20%.
Candidates will be assigned roll numbers and issued admission certificate (admit card) for appearing in the Computer based test of Tier 1, online on the websites of concerned Regional/ Sub-Regional Office of the Commission. Based on the marks and cut off in Tier 1 they will be called for the second round. The aggregate marks in all 3 stages decides for the final call for Document Verification and Skill Tests.
Group B has 3 levels of pay level ranging from pay level 8 (Rs 47,600 to 1,51,100) to pay level 7 (Rs 44900 to 142400) to pay level 6 (Rs 35400 to 112400). Similarly for Group C candidates will be hired on 2 different scale according to post one is at Pay Level-5 (Rs 29200 to 92300) and other at Pay Level-4 (Rs 25500 to 81100).
As per the official notification published the number of vacancies will be notified in due course of time and reservation for the reserved category candidates will be intimated by the Indenting Ministries/ Departments/ Offices/ Cadres, as per extant Government Orders.
