The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducted Combined Graduate Level Examination 2017, Tier 1, from August 05 to 23, 2017. The examination was held in 43 batched across the country, with an average attendance of 50 percent. Today, on October 31, 2017, the commission has announced the result of SSC CGL 2017.

Candidates who appeared for the exam, in any batch, may check their SSC CGL Result 2017 online. It has been released as a PDf and only the Roll Number, Name, and category is mentioned on it. The marks of the candidates will also be revealed but after few days. The marks will be disclosed region wise and the candidates will be able to check it online, by accessing the login.

Along with the result, SSC CGL Cutoff for Tier 1 and candidate’s data has also been disclosed. Last year, 14.82 lakh candidates appeared for the examination and of these only 149,319 qualified for the next round. However, this year, out of 15.43 lakh candidates 15,450 have qualified for Tier 2, Paper 1, 2, 4 and 10,311 candidates for Tier 2, Paper 1, 2, and 3. Hence, in all 150,404 candidates have qualified.

The cutoff for SC, ST, OBC, and UR category is 127.5, 117, 140, and 151 for candidates who qualified for Tier 2, Paper 1, 2, and 3. Whereas, for selecting candidates for Tier 2, Paper 1, 2, 4 the cutoff has been defined as 129, 123, 140, and 152.5. The overall cutoff of the examination has decreased in comparison to last year. For SSC CGL 2017 it is 103, 93, 115, and 131 for SC, ST, OBC and UR category. Whereas, last year, it was 114, 130, 125, and 137 for the respective categories.

The list of rejected candidates has also been released this year. In all, SSC has cancelled the candidature of 47 candidates on various grounds. The list of rejected candidates also only states the Roll Number of the debarred candidates. A separate list for those candidates has also been released who appeared in the examination twice. Commission has disqualified these candidates as well.

The qualifying candidates of SSC CGL Tier 1 will now be called for the Tier 2 of the exam. The dates for Tier 2 are November 27 to 30, 2017. The admit cards to the qualified candidates will be issued in the 1st or 2nd week of November 2017. Candidates will need Registration Number and Date of Birth to download it, from the respective regional website of SSC.

The Tier 2 will also be a computer based test. It will be divided into four papers for Quantitative Ability, English Language Comprehension, Statistics Questions, and General Studies (Finance and Economics). Each of these papers will be of 200 marks. In QA and Statistics, candidates will have to solve 100 questions of multiple choice type. Whereas, the number of questions in English and GS will be 200 each.

Candidates will get 120 minutes to solve the examination but for the HV and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy the exam duration will be of 160 minutes. Negative marking is also applicable in the examination. 0.25 marks will be deducted for choosing incorrect answer option in English section.
