SSC CGL 2017 Delayed; Admit Card to be Issued After July 20!

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL). The delay was notified today, on July 19, through a pdf which was uploaded on ssc.nic.in. Earlier, the examination was supposed to begin from August 01, 2017. However, now the first paper of SSC CGL will be held on August 05, 2017.

The Commission has not disclosed the reason for pushing back the exam date. The official notice just highlights two aspects, that the instead of August 01 to 20, 2017, the examination be held from August 05 to 24, 2017, and the exam will not be held on August 07, 13, 14, and 15, 2017. Applicants can download SSC CGL 2017 admit card from the official website to know the date on which they must appear for the exam. The candidates can have a look at the official notice from the image below.

The application procedure for CGL 2017 concluded on June 19, 2017, and now the candidates are eagerly waiting for the issuance of the admit card. Usually, the admit card of SSC CGL is released, almost, two weeks before the examination. However, it can be released any time after July 20, 2017, because until then the Commission is accepting and removing discrepancies in the scribe details as per July 14, 2017, notification.

The admit card will be issued online, for all the candidates who applied for the examination. Candidates will only be able to download it from the regional websites. In all, there are 9 regions of SSC and are NWR, MPR, KKR, SR, WR, NER, ER, CR, and NR.

To download the admission certificate/admit card, candidates will have to access the website, seek the link for admit card and login by entering the Registration ID and Date of Birth. The candidates will then have to print the displayed admit card on an A-4 sheet. On the exam day, only the printed copy of the document will be accepted.

Through the admit card, the exam date, time centre, etc will be intimated to the candidates. It will also contain some of the personal information. If the candidates will find any error is the detail(s), they must inform SSC about it.

SSC CGL 2017 will be almost 4733 vacancies, for Grade B and C, will be filled. Total 30,26,598 candidates have applied for examination this year. In all, there will be 4 tier in the examination and the candidates will have to qualify all.

The candidate who will qualify tier I will be called for tier II and the qualifier of tier II for tier II, so on and so forth. Last year, approx. 30 lakh candidates applied for the tier I and only 14.82 lakh qualified the exam. The cutoff for the tier I, for SC, ST, OBC, and UR category, was 114.00, 103.00, 125.50, and 137.00.

From SC category, only 24227 candidates qualified and the figure for ST and OBC category went upto 11352  and 56192, respectively. From UR or General category, the total number of the qualified candidates was 46422.

Out of the qualified 14.82 lakh, only 4796 candidates were selected for the Tier III. the segregation was done on the basis of cutoff, which was 454.00, 427.00, 493.75, and 536.00 for SC, ST, OBC, and UR category. Share your queries and thoughts with us. Comment below.
