Southern Railway has published three railway recruitment 2020 notifications. The first is advertisement No. SGW/P.98/Vol XXI / Act Apprentices, second is No. GPB (A)-128-Act-Engg-29, and the third is No. CPB/P1/98/Act/TP/Vol XXI.
Southern railway recruitment 2020 notification from the office of the chief workshop manager, signal and telecommunication workshop is engaging apprentices in different trades for a total of 1,654 vacancies. In fresher categories there are 43, signal and telecommunication workshop Podanur Coimbatore has 52 vacancies, Trivandrum division has 683, then Palaghat division consists of 666 seats, and Salem division has 210.
Then the notification from central workshops, personnel branch, Ponmalai, Trichy has 667 vacancies. 308 vacancies exist for freshers and ITI candidates for central workshop Ponmalai. 259 are there are ITI candidates for Tiruchirapalli division. 100 seats are there for ITI candidates in Madurai division.
Office of chief workshop manager, Carriage and wagons works personnel branch Chennai has notified 1,208 vacancies. Fresher category vacancies are 80 in number.Railway hospital Perambur, for medical laboratory technician has 20 vacancies. In ex ITI category there are a total of 1,108 vacancies. Wherein there are 384 vacancies for carriage and wagon works Perambur, 130 for electrical workshop Perambur, 214 for loco works Perambur, 67 for engineering workshop Arakkonam, 74 for Chennai division RS/AJJ, 102 for Chennai division RS / AVD, 60 for Chennai division RS/TMB, 9 in Chennai division DSL/TNP, 38 seats are in Chennai division CW/BBQ, 27 in Chennai division RS/RPM, 3 in Railway hospital Perambur.
Opening and closing dates to apply for Southern Railway recruitment 2020 are December 1, 2019, and December 31, 2019 respectively. On the last date, registration link will be deactivated at 5 pm.
Online applications are invited from candidates who are resident of geographical jurisdiction of Southern Railway, which includes Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Andmana and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep. Application form has to be filled and submitted at the official website sr.indianrailways.gov.in.
For this railway recruitment or rather apprentice engagement, candidates should be class 10th pass with at least 50% in aggregate, passed ITI in relevant trade. In the case of freshers, merit will be on the basis of average of marks in SSLC or matriculation. Those who are applying for MLT should have passed class 12th with physics, chemistry, biology.
The minimum marks requirement of 50% is not applicable for SC, ST, PWD. Further, applicants should be between 15 to 22 years old. The upper age limit is 24 years for MLT. Prior to starting apprenticeship, candidates should have RDAT registration number.
Application fee for SR Railway Recruitment is Rs 100, as processing fee, which is exempt for SC, ST, PH, women candidates.
Selection will be on the basis of average percentage of marks in matriculation and ITI exam, giving equal weightage to both. Training duration is 1 to 2 years depending upon trade. While contract of apprentice is only for training, 20% of the vacancies in the case of direct recruitment to level 1 posts shall be filled giving preference to Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs).
