South East Central Railway published the cultural quota recruitment notification 2019-2020 as well as released the online application form for this new recruitment today. SECR will keep the window to apply online against employment notice no. P-HQ/RRC/761/2019-20 open for a total of 30 days. The last date to register and apply online will be January 13, 2020.
SECR cultural quota recruitment 2019-2020 is being carried out by the Railway Recruitment Cell Headquarter Officer, Personnel Department, Bilaspur.
Through this recruitment, 2 vacancies will be filled in group C category that will be in the pay matrix level 2. There is 1 vacancy each in the posts of Percussion Instruments, and String Instruments.
For the first one, candidates who apply should have a degree or diploma certificate in percussion instruments from government or any government recognized institute. For the second one, a degree or diploma certificate in string instruments from government or any government recognized institutes will be required.
As on January 1, 2020, age of applicant should be at least 18 years, and not more than 30 years. Though there is a relaxation of upto 3 years for OBC candidates, and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Any one of the two qualifications is required. Either candidate is 12th pass with at least 50% marks, or course completed Act Apprentice / ITI pass approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) / State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT). The minimum marks requirement of 50% does not apply to SC, ST, ex servicemen, and those who have a higher qualification like graduation, post graduation et al.

Last year also the South East Central Railway had recruited against cultural quota. However in the last engagement, position was opened for light vocal post.
Usually in cultural quota recruitment, RRC Bilaspur conducts a written test, and also awards marks for talent. For instance in the last recruitment, there was a written test of 50 marks with multiple choice questions on general knowledge, arithmetic, and cultural subjects. Then 35 marks were given for practical demonstration and 15 marks were awarded for testimonials and prizes.
During registration, candidates will need to upload the relevant certificates and documents asked for. If selected, they will have to present the same for verification.
Railways also says “Candidates who wish to seek age relaxation must submiUupload requisite caste certificate in prescribed format from the competent authority; otherwise their claim for reserved status will not be considered and such candidates will be considered as General (UR) candidates subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions of General (UR) candidates”.
SECR, RRC Bilaspur has also released notification for sports quota recruitment 2019-2020 today. Candidates who fit the requirements of that notification, may apply against that. For all ongoing recruitment of the South East Central Railway, the official website is secr.indianrailways.gov.in.
