Goa & Maharashtra SET Exam Result 2017 Announced; Pass Percentage only 3.92%

Today, on August 10, 2017, the University of Pune announced the result of Maharashtra State Eligibility Test 2017.  The result has been declared online, for all the candidates of Maharashtra and Goa, who appeared for the SET exam on April 16, 2017.

The result has been published on setexam.unipune.ac.in. The candidates can check and download it by visiting the website and accessing the ‘Result’ link. The candidates will have to open the result login, for which they will be required to enter Exam, With or WIthout Marks, Birth of Date, and Name/Seat Number/Application Number. The result login will be as shown in the image below.

The result of SET exam is subjected to qualifying of the verification stage and fulfilling the eligibility condition. The marks and the qualifying status of the candidates have been announced via the result. The qualified candidates will become eligible for the Assistant Professorship. However, being eligible does not guarantee recruitment. Instead, they will become qualified to be a professor and can apply on the basis of it.

In all, 69186 candidates applied for the examination. Out of these, only 2710 have qualified the examination. Hence, leading to a total pass percentage of 3.92%. Out of the 32 subjects, the highest cutoff for the General category had been for the Defence Strategy and Studies subject and is 70.29%. For the SC category, the highest cutoff is 61.71% and is for the Forensic Science subject. For the ST category, the cutoff went as high as 55.45% and is for the Psychology and English subject. Lastly, in the case of the OBC category, the highest cutoff score is 62.29% and is again for the Forensic Sciences subject.

Though the MH SET result has been announced. Yet, UNI Pune is granting the opportunity to challenge the final answer key. The challenges are to be sent through a written request, which is to be sent to the Registrar and Member Secretary (SET), Savitribai Phule Pune University, Ganeshkhind, Pune.

The challenges can be submitted within one month from the result announcement. The candidates will also have to send the proof, supporting their challenge and with it a Demand Draft of Rs. 5000 is also to be sent to the Finance & Accounts Officer, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Ganeshkhind, Pune.

Without the DD, the claim of the candidates will not be accepted. Even without the proof of objection, the claim of the candidates will not be entertain. Hence, it is vital to ensure that both are in place while challenging the key.

The claims will be analyzed by a Committee of experts. If it challenge is found valid, then the additional candidates will be termed qualified but the status of the already qualified candidates will not be harmed by this up gradation.

Now, the eligibility certificates will be issued to the SET qualified candidates. The certificates will be issued after a month from the declaring of the result. However, it should be noted that the candidate, whose final year PG exam result is yet to be announced, will only get their certificates when all the eligibility conditions will be fulfilled by them.  

To receive the certificate, the eligible candidate needs to submit confirmation page of the application form, final year mark sheet, marriage certificate (if applicable), caste certificate (if applicable), non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable), medical certificate, and PH certificate (if applicable).
