Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has published recruitment notification for Grade A (Assistant Manager) on September 15, 2018. Online application form is also available now and can be submitted between September 15 to October 7, 2018. Phase I online examination will be held on November 17, 2018. Candidates who are shortlisted on basis of phase I exam shall appear for phase II online exam on December 16, 2018. Thereafter shortlisted candidates will appear for interview. There are 120 vacancies for Grade A posts in general stream, legal stream, information technology stream, and engineering stream.
For selection in general stream, one should have either masters degree in any discipline, or bachelors in law / engineering, or be a CA or CS or CFA or CWA. Bachelors degree in law is necessary to be in legal stream. Whereas to be in IT stream one should either have MCA or PG in computers/information technology, or engineering graduation in electrical / electronics / electronics and communication / information technology / computer science. By the same token, candidates should have Civil engineering graduation degree to get into Engineering (Civil) stream or Electrical engineering graduation degree to get into Engineering (Electrical) stream.
As per eligibility criteria set by SEBI, candidates can be at max 30 years old as on August 31, 2018. Therefore one who is born on or after September 1, 1988 only is eligible. However relaxation is applicable as per norms. Download notification here.
Applicants shall get call letters to appear in phase I online exam, which will be issued by SEBI most likely in October end or November beginning.
SEBI has informed through its recruitment 2018 notification that phase i online exam shall have 40 questions each on 5 topics namely general awareness, english language, quantitative aptitude, test of reasoning, awareness about securities market. It will be a 2 hours duration exam. candidates who get 40% cut off marks in each test shall qualify. Number of candidates who will be shortlisted for phase II shall be 10 times number of vacancies.
In order to appear for SEBI Recruitment 2018, candidates must fill and submit online form. Application fee is Rs 850 for UR and OBC candidates, and Rs 100 for SC, ST, PWBD candidates. Apply online here.
Then comes phase II online exam. There will be 3 papers in it. General stream candidates will sit for securities market (paper 1), English writing skills (paper 2), economic and social issues and finance and management (paper 3). Legal / IT / Engineering stream candidates will sit for financial sector (paper 1), English writing skills (paper 2), specialized subject related to stream (paper 3).
Each paper in phase II for SEBI Recruitment 2018 shall be of 100 marks. Paper 1, will be of 40 minutes, paper 2 of 60 minutes, and paper 3 of 40 minutes again. Once again candidates must get 40% in each paper. This time number of candidates who will be shortlisted for interview will be 3 times number of vacancies.
Interview will be in Hindi, English, as opted by candidate. Final selection for SEBI Recruitment 2018 of Grade A Assistant Manager will be on basis of marks of phase II (85%) and interview (15%).
Primarily SEBI recruitment 2018 is important for bank job seekers or government job seekers on a larger scale. This being a Grade A recruitment, entails a salary pay scale of Rs. 28150-1550(4)-34350-1750(7)-46600-EB-1750(4)-53600- 2000(1)-55600 (17 years). Quoting its notification,
Presently, the gross emolument including SEBI’s Contribution towards National Pension Scheme (NPS), Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Family Allowance, Local Allowance etc. at Mumbai at the minimum of this scale is approx. Rs. 92,000/- p.m. without accommodation and Rs. 62,000/- p.m. with accommodation.
