State Bank of India (SBI) Probationary Officers (PO) 2020 notification is eagerly awaited by bank job aspirants in India. In the recent past, there has been an especially high amount of chatter on the web and social media about the release of SBI PO notification 2020. While it is not clear how the speculations started, but as of now there seem to be some confusion among candidates regarding the matter.
First of all, SBI has not yet released the notification for probationary officer recruitment. Thus candidates who have come across notifications, social media posts, youtube videos claiming the same may note that they are fake. Secondly, if the notification has not yet been released, then when will it be published, can be projected as per past 5 years timelines. Unlike IBPS that publishes an exam calendar for the complete year in advance, SBI does not reveal yearly recruitment calendar beforehand. However there are some posts like clerk, PO, SO that are filled yearly and follow a more or less similar schedule.
In the year 2019, SBI PO notification had been released in April. Registrations to fill 2000 vacancies were accepted online at sbi.co.in from April 2 to 22. The preliminary exam was held in the month of June.
A year before that, in 2018, the SBI PO notification was released in April. Online application form submission was carried out from April 21 to May 13. Then the prelims was held in July.
In the preceding year that is 2017, the notification for SBI Probationary Officers recruitment was published in February, and application form submission was done from February 7 to March 6. Thereafter the preliminary exam was held in April and May months.
Looking back even further, in the year 2016, SBI PO notification was issued in May. Application forms were invited in online mode from May 4 to 24. In that year the preliminary exam was held in the month of July.
An even older calendar shows that for the 2015 recruitment session, SBI released notification for PO exam in April, invited applications from April 13 to May 2. The preliminary exam was held in June.
As can be seen, there is as such no fixed date or month for issuance of SBI PO notification. In the last 5 years, the announcement pertaining to PO recruitment has been made by State Bank of India in different months, ranging from February to May. However there is one month in which most of the notifications were published, that is April.
Therefore there are higher chances of the SBI PO notification 2020 to be released in the month of April. Thereafter applications will be invited through sbi.co.in for the number of vacancies determined by the State Bank of India. Vacancies have been seen to be ranging between 2000 and 2400 only in recent past, and the trend is expected to continue.
