SBI Clerk 2018 Notification Released, Apply Online From 20th Jan

This is what bank job aspirants have been waiting for: SBI Clerk 2018 notification released on 19th January 2018 at the official website sbi.co.in. Aspirants throughout India had been waiting for this for a long time. Now they can apply starting from 20th January 2018 and until 10th February 2018. In this duration, one can apply online at sbi.co.in by paying a fee of Rs 600 (general or OBC) / Rs 100 (SC/ST/PWD/XS). Those who are applying must note that they should be proficient in the local language of the particular state.

Those who have been preparing for bank jobs for some time, can now start revising and taking mock tests. Those who are going to start should begin by completing the syllabus.

The SBI Clerk 2018 apply online should be completed on time. The preliminary exam will be held in either March or April, exact date has not been confirmed yet. However the notification informs that Mains exam of the recruitment process will on 12th May 2018. Exam date of prelims (preliminary) exam will be announced tentatively in February.

Now that dates are clear, the next thing to note are the number of vacancies. There are 7200 vacancies under this notification and 1101 of backlog, thus totaling at 8301 vacancies. The 7200 vacant positions are divided as 3788 – general, 1111 – SC, 711 – ST, 1590 – OBC.

Notification also throws light upon age limit and educational qualification required in order to be eligible for Junior Associate / Clerk position. It is 20 to 28 years as on 1st January 2018. This means that candidate should be born between 2nd January 1990 and 1st January 1998. Relaxation in age limit is 5 yrs – SC/ST, 3 yrs – OBC, 10 yrs – PWD GEN, 15 yrs – PWD SC/ST, 13 yrs – PWD OBC, 5 yrs – 5 yrs. Educational qualification requirement is graduation.

Next, take a look at the selection procedure comprising of preliminary and main exam.

Preliminary exam is only a qualifying stage. Its marks will not be added for final merit listing, which will be on the basis of mains exam.

It is anticipated that at least a million candidates will appear for SBI Clerk 2018. This is because, firstly bank jobs are immensely popular. Secondly, this recruitment is being done after a gap of more than one year, it was last held on 2016. So all the candidates who were looking forward to join State Bank of India, for the last two years, will now finally get to compete for it.
