Today is the last date to do online registration for Sainik School admission 2020 for admission to classes 6th and 9th. The Sainik Schools Society is accepting application form at sainikschooladmission.in right now. However after today’s deadline, the registration link will close. Therefore last few hours are left to apply.
Students who are between 10 to 12 years old, and those who are between 13 to 15 years old can respectively apply for class 6th admissions and class 9th admissions respectively. Applicants will be able to download admit cards from the official website from December 2, 2019, in order to appear in the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2020. The exam is scheduled to be held on January 5, 2020.
Affiliated to CBSE, the english medium Sainik Schools are established in several cities. For example there are Sainik Schools in Korukonda, Kalikiri (Ap), Goalpara, Nalanda, Gopalganj, Ambikapur, Balachadi, Kunjpura, Rewari, Sujanpur Tira, Nagrota, Tilaiya, Bijapur, Kodagu, Kazakoottam, Rewa, Satara, Imphal, Chhingchhip, Punglwa, Bhubaneshwar, Kapurthala, Chittorgarh, Amaravathinagar, Ghorakhal, Purulia, East Siang, Jhunjhunu, Chandrapur, Mainpuri, Jhansi, Sambalpur. There are 31 such schools in India.
The admission is only open for boys, except for the school in Chhingchhip, where girls can also apply. The government is however taking steps to establish a system wherein girls can also take admission the Sainik Schools from 2021 or after that.
Students, or their parents must visit sainikschooladmission.in and click on the application form link under the login section. Then fill all details in the form, upload a photo and signature, pay the fee and submit the form. At the time of registration only, one has to select school and category for which they are applying. Some of the facilities provided by Sainik Schools include modern laboratories, smart classrooms. There are well equipped hostels, them being fully residential schools. Students are provided a wholesome diet, good sports facilities for all games including tennis, squash. Then there is compulsory NCC training that builds discipline and strength in each individual. Shooting range and firing practice facilities are also provided, along with adventure activities.
The Sainik Schools mould students from a young age to take up leadership roles in the future. Students get trained to become cadets to join National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla Pune, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and other officers training academies. As per the schools, over 10,000 cadets have joined the defence forces from their students, and that 25% cadets in the NDA are from Sainik Schools.
AISSEE 2020 will be a 300 marks paper for class 6th admissions, and 400 marks for class 9th admissions. Qualifying marks have been set at 25% in each subject, and 40% in aggregate.
