Sainik Schools Society is accepting online application forms over sainikschooladmission.in for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2020. The last date for registration is September 23, 2019. Admissions are open to class 6th and 9th.
Boys in the age group 10 to 12 years, 13 to 15 years can respectively apply for class 6th and 9th. Girls are only eligible for admission in Sainik School Chhingchhip. Registration charges are Rs 400 for general and defence category and Rs 250 for SC, ST.
Interested candidates need to visit sainikschooladmission.in for online registration. Click on the application form, new registration on the website then go through the six steps to apply – do registration by entering all details asked in form, upload photograph and signature, upload documents, preview and edit form, pay the application fee, submit and print the Sainik School admission form 2020.
The documents to be uploaded in form besides photo and signature are three in number. They are the birth certificate, domicile certificate, and caste certificate. In case of birth certificate, it should be by municipal committee or board or corporation or extract of date of birth entered in the service documents or transfer certificate issued by previous school. Transfer certificate is mandatory for candidates applying for class 9th.
Sainik School Admission is on the basis of AISSEE 2020. Applicants will get admit card on December 2 through the official website only.
The exam will be held on January 5, 2020 from 10 am. For class 6 admissions, the exam will be of 300 marks and held in english, hindi, and regional languages. However the question paper for class 9 entrance exam will be of 400 marks and will be only in english. Sainik Schools require students to score at least 25% in each subject, and 40% in aggregate to qualify the exam.
After the exam, in the year 2020, answer scripts will be checked from January 12 to January 20. Then final merit list roll number wise and call letters will be issued from February 3 to February 7. Then the medical exam for shortlisted students will be from February 20 to March 10.
Merit list with waiting list will be out on March 20. Overall admission to wards of willing parents based on combined merit list, category wise by deficient schools be done from March 28 to March 30. Surplus or deficient candidates in category wise order will be available on March 31.
Sainik Schools are managed by the Sainik School Society, Ministry of Defence. This system was established in the year 1961. The basic vision behind the schools was to remove class differences between officers cadre in the National Defence Academy, by doing so at a root level. Today, nearly 25% cadets in the NDA are from Sainik Schools, 4 Chief of Army, Navy, Air Force have until now been alumni of the schools, and over 10,000 cadets have joined defence forces. In fact, a few Chief Ministers in India have also been alumni of Sainik Schools.
As per recent reports, admission for girls will also begin in Sainik Schools from the year 2021. Groundwork for the same has commenced.
