A new railway recruitment notification has recently been published by Northeast Frontier Railway to fill vacancies against sports quota for the year 2019-20. RRC NFR Guwahati invites applications against employment notice 01/2019 from suitable candidates.
Application form for NFR recruitment will be accepted until December 16, 2019. However the deadline is December 26, 2019 for candidates from Andaman and Nicobar islands, Jammu Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti districts, Pangi sub division in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep and abroad.
Vacancies in the advertised notification are for sportspersons belonging to events namely athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, cycling, powerlifting, volleyball, weightlifting. In these, the respective number of vacancies are 1, 3, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1. Thus the total vacancies are 16 in number.
For appointment to the post of technician 3 in grade pay Rs 1900/2000 level 2 or 3 of pay matrix, applicant should be 10th pass. However the notification adds that sports quota appointees will undergo a 3 year period training, unless they possess an ITI qualification in the relevant trade, which if they do, then their training will be 6 months. In the case of non technical popular category (NTPC) posts, candidates should be 12th pass.
Age limit for the posts is 18 tp 205 years as on January 1, 2020.
Minimum sports norms have been set by Indian railways. Any one of the six points has to be satisfied. Either represented country in category B championships, or atleast 3rd position in category C championships, or at least 3rd position in senior / youth / junior national championships, or at least 3rd place in national games of Indian Olympics Association, or at least 3rd rank in all India inter university championships of AIU, or 1st in federation cup championships in senior category.
The selection procedure in NFR recruitment 2019 shall be such that candidates will be shortlisted and called for first a trial of sports performance. After that they will undergo assessment of sports achievement and educational qualification.
During trials, candidates will be judged as fit or not fit on basis or marks out of 40. To be fit, they will have to get more than 25 marks, and not fit will be those will less than 25 marks. Only fit candidates will undergo assessment. Recruitment committee will then give marks out of 60 in assessment. Thus for overall selection, marks out of 100 will be seen.
Marks are distributed in such a way that maximum 40 marks are given for game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observations during trial. Then marks out of 50 will be given for assessment of recognized sports achievements as per norms. And marks out of 10 will be for educational qualification.
How to apply for North East Frontier Railway recruitment 2019?
The application form submission is offline. Candidates need to get the notification, which contain the application form in annexure A. Notification is on page 42 of this week’s employment news.
Then the form needs to be filled in one’s own handwriting on an A4 size sheet, along with two recent, that is taken in last two months, passport size photograph duly attested. NFR recruitment 2019 application form has to be sent with requisite documents to the address mentioned in notification.
Application fee for this railway recruitment 2019-2020 is Rs 500 with provision of refunding Rs 400 if candidates appear in the exam. Fee has to be paid through IPO. SC, ST, ex-s, pwd, women, minorities and economic backward class have to pay Rs 250, with provision of refund in case of appearing in the exam.
