RRB JE Notification for 14059 Junior Engineer Releasing on 29 December 2018

Bells are ringing for another big recruitment by Indian Railway. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will release notification for RRB JE / DMC / CMA Recruitment on December 29, 2018. The employment news paper will carry RRB JE Notification on the last Saturday of this month. It will also be available in the official website of the RRBs, which are 21 in total. The application form for RRB JE is expected to be available few days after the release of the notification. There was an internal notice that was circulated among RRB officials last week about JE recruitment. Somehow this notice found its way to social media platforms. Seeing this notice only on social media and not on official websites has led to questions regarding the notice’s authenticity.

However, this notice is not fake. Nevertheless, it was never meant for public display and could be subject to further modifications. Therefore, there are chances that by the time RRB releases a Railway JE Notification, some aspects of the recruitment might change. Otherwise it is for a fact that RRB JE recruitment is going to happen.

Vacancies and Application Process

All that we know for now is that the recruitment will open for 14059 vacancies. Of these, 8779 will be for Junior Engineer. The number of vacancies for CMDS will be 162 and for DMS they are 294. Other than this, the vacancies for CMA and CMS are 481 and 39 respectively. Remaining 4304 vacancies are for Senior Section Engineer (SSE).

RRB will release an Online Indenting and Recruitment Management System (OIRMS) for RRB JE 2018. It will be an online portal, through which candidates will be able to apply and chose post. The creating of recruitment indent is being done from December 13 to 16, 2018. The date for approval and creation of CPO indent on RRB is December 17 to 19, 2018. Lastly, the approval of CPO indents by RRB will be done on December 20, 2018.

It is expected that the application fee will be Rs. 250 for Ex-Serviceman / SC / ST / PwD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class just like other recruitment of RRB. The candidates belonging to other categories will have to pay Rs. 500. However, the actual amount will be disclosed through the official notification only.

Recruitment to be Done through CBT

RRB has been doing all the recent recruitment through computer based test, followed by other rounds. It is expected that for the recruitment of Junior Engineer and other vacancies, CBT will be held. The date, syllabus, exam pattern, and other details will be available in the RRB JE Notification.
