Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) released the notification for recruitment 2019 to the post of Junior Legal Officer (JLO) with 156 vacancies. There are 145 vacancies in non-TSP, and 11 in TSP. Online application form for the post will be available at rpsc.rajastham.gov.in from September 26, 2019, to October 25, 2019.
Law graduates, with age between 21 to 40 years as on January 1, 2020, are invited to apply for this government job. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST, BC, EBC of Rajasthan. Application fees for RPSC JLO recruitment 2019 are Rs 350 for general, EWS, Rs 250 for BC, EBC of Rajasthan, and Rs 150 for PWD, SC, ST, and candidates whose family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
Selection process for Junior Legal Officers will be on the basis of written exam and interview. The exam will have four sections – I, II, III, IV. Part I will be constitution of india with special emphasis on fundamental rights, directive principles and enforcement of rights through writs, functioning of high court and supreme court and the attorney general. Part II will be civil procedure code and criminal procedure code. provisions required to be referred generally in government office will be given importance. Then part III of the exam will be evidence act, limitation act, interpretation of statutes, drafting and conveyancing. The fourth part will have part A general hindi, and part B general english.
Part I, II, III, IV in the Junior Legal Officer recruitment test will respectively be of 50, 50, 50, 25, 25 marks. Each paper will be of three hours duration. All questions shall be multiple choice type. Minimum passing marks have been prescribed as 40% in each. Candidates who qualify as per their performance in written exam, will be called for personality test or interview of 25 marks. The RPSC JLO notification says, “The Commission may in its discretion award grace marks upto 1 in each paper and upto 3 in the aggregate. The Commission may fix minimum qualifying marks in the written examination for the scheduled caste and the scheduled tribe candidates lower than what is prescribed for other candidates. The marks so awarded shall be added to the marks obtained in the written test by each candidate.”
Junior Legal Officers hired through this process will be inducted in the law and legal affairs department. The candidates will be in level 10 of the pay matrix. The number of vacancies category wise in Non TSP are 54 for UR, 23 for SC, 17 for ST, 30 for OBC, 7 for MBC, and 14 for EWS. For TSP, the vacancies are 7 for UR, 4 for ST.
