An incredible number of candidates have applied for the RPF SI and Constable Exam. The number of applications passed the 59 lakh mark for RPF Constable Recruitment. A huge number of applications mean a tight competition. Overall, there is 8619 number of vacancies for RPF Constable, in which, 4403 vacancies are for Female candidates, and 4216 for Female candidates. Recruitment of RPF SI 2018 is open for 1120 vacancies.
As per the newspaper reports, more than 49 lac male candidates have applied for RPF Constable Recruitment, while there have been more than 9 lac applications for the female vacancies. The total number of unreserved seats for the male candidates are 3137 and for female candidates, this number is 2599. This exam is conducted for selection in the railway zones that fall under Group A, B, C, D, E, and F.
On the other hand, about 14,29,805 candidates applied for the RPF Sub-Inspector post. For the Sub Inspector post, there are 819 vacancies for male candidates and 301 vacancies for the female candidates. For Male candidates, the unreserved seats are 454 and for females, the number is 157. This RPF Sub-Inspector exam also recruits candidates for zones that are under Group A, B, C, D, E, and F.
The RPF Constable Computer Based Test for Group A, B and F is being held from January 17 to 25, 2019. The Admit Card for all the RPF Constable Exams is available for download now. Meanwhile, the RPF SI CBT examination for all the Groups concluded on January 13, 2019.
The RPF SI/Constable exam consists of three tests, one is the Computer Based Test, then the candidates who qualify the CBT have to take a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and a Physical Measurement Test (PMT). The RPF Constable CBT exam can be taken in 15 languages. A candidate is given 90 minutes to attempt 120 questions. Questions from three sections, General Awareness, which is of 50 marks, Arithmetic of 35 marks and General Intelligence & Reasoning of 35 marks. To qualify the RPF Constable CBT exam, a candidate needs to at least score 35% of the total marks, while the SC & ST candidates need to score at least 30%.
Under the RPF Constable selection process, candidates who are shortlisted after the CBT exam are then called for a Physical Efficiency Test. Under the Physical Efficiency Test for RPF Constable, the candidates are expected to perform tasks like sprinting, high jump and long jump.
For the Constable Exam, a male candidate has to run for a distance of 1600 m distance within 5 minutes and 45 seconds, perform a long jump of at least 14 feet and a high jump of 4 feet. On the other hand, the female candidates have to run a distance of 800 m within 3 minutes and 40 seconds, perform a long jump of at least 9 feet and a high jump of 3 feet. Candidates are only given one chance for the 1600/800 meters running and two chances each for the jumping tasks.
Candidates also need to qualify the Physical Measurement Test. The Final Merit List is drawn on the basis of the PET/PMT qualification and the marks scored in the RPF Constable CBT exam.
