Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences has officially published the notification about postponement of exams at rguhs.ac.in. The varsity has rescheduled exams for UG AYUSH programs, and UG as well as PG programs for nursing, physiotherapy and allied health sciences. Initially these exams were going to start from September 18, 2019. Now they will commence on September 30, 2019.
The revised time table for RGUHS exam 2019 will be published in some time. However RGUHS will conduct PG AYUSH programme exams as per the old time table only, as per which, exams of PG AYUSH students will start on October 15, 2019.
An official notification stating the same was published yesterday night. Marked as Reg(E)/Exam/UG/September/October – 2019, the notification says that with revised time table, revised fee details will also be issued. And through the notification, the university has informed heads of institutions to circulate the message among students. The subject of the notification spells, “rescheduling of UG/PG, AYUSH-(Only UG), Nursing, Physiotherapy and Allied Health Science’s theory examination – September/October-2019 – regarding”.
As far as circulating messages is concerned, word that RGUHS exam dates are postponed had been spreading like wildfire since two days. The only issue was that not one but many conflicting notifications were being shared over social media, and no official notice was seen on the official website. This noticeably caused some unrest among students who were dealing with last minute study pressure, and on top of it were worried about separating actual news from rumors.
Different notifications in the last two days have said different things. Some said that BSc Nursing exams were postponed. Some said Post Basic Nursing exam was delayed. Another said that all notifications were fake.
Now with this notification, all doubts have been put to rest about RGUHS exam postponement – it is confirmed that all nursing exams, all physiotherapy and allied health sciences exams, and UG AYUSH exams will now take place from the last date of this month. The only thing left to do besides studying now is to look forward to the revised time table.
The varsity has not stated any reasons in the notification about why the exams are being postponed. However reports suggest that it is because of the floods that hit the state earlier. The disaster left over 70 dead, dozens missing, more than 900 loss of animal life, and over 50,000 houses damaged. Around 7 lakh people had to be evacuated. The natural calamity has left a lot of things wanting in its wake. The state is still recovering. Probably considering difficulty of students to attend exams in such a situation, the exam time table is being revised.
Since the exams will now be held a little later, it is expected that the results shall also be delayed.
Reported to be India’s largest health sciences university, RGUHS was in news earlier this year for introducing a 40 hour Kannada course. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences aims to prepare other states students to learn Kannada through this course so that they can converse with patients in the language – a skill that is appreciated by patients and helps in better healthcare. Also, RGUHS had announced opening up new regional centre at Kavoor.
