Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) invites applications for admission in class 6 at Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya (RGNV). The board has released notification with application form attached on their official website, ubse.uk.gov.in. The board will conduct an entrance exam for the purpose of selection for admissions to 630 seats. The last date for students to submit application form is December 09, 2019.
Rajiv Gandhi Navodya Vidyalaya (RGNV) is a residential school chain established in the hills of Uttarakhand. There are 13 school of RGNV at Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar, and Uttarkashi. The schools are affiliated with CBSE and follow the NCERT curriculum. For RGNVs, the main aim is to ensure that their students reach the highest academic and personal potential.
To apply, one has to first download the application form which they can get from the official website. RGNV entrance exam 2020 notification and application form is available at ubse.uk.gov.in on the departmental exams page.
Students who are currently studying in class 5 and aged between 9 to 13 are eligible to apply. Further, one should have passed in classes 3, 4, and 5.
After downloading the form candidates have to fill all details in it and paste their current passport size photograph which should be attested by the principal of the school. Applicants applying for RGNV admissions have to submit their attested application form at their school on or before the last date.
UBSE shall conduct the RGNV entrance exam 2020 on February 2, 2020. There will be 3 sections hindi, mathematics, and mental aptitude test with 25, 25, 50 questions. It will be a two hours long exam. Every correct answer will fetch 1 mark; there will not be any negative marking. Admit card for this will be made available to candidates at their schools prior to the examination. The admit card is attached with the form. Students will already fill it with their details, whereas exam details will be filled by the board and given to candidates.
It may be noted that after students submit their forms, schools will submit all the collected application form at the office of the concerned authorities by December 23, 2019. A soft and hard copy of this will be delivered to the council office by January 6, 2020.
After the examination, the result for this will be uploaded on the official website of UBSE. Qualified candidates will be called for further counseling which will be conducted by the board. Selected students will get their admission to the nearest RGNV school to their address. The qualifying score for general students will be 40% percent. Whereas for reserved candidates the score will be 33%.
The examination timings are 11 am to 1 pm. All updates of the exam are at ubse.uk.gov.in.
80% seats are reserved for rural areas, and 20% for urban. Gender wise, 50% seats are for girls.
