The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowered provided clarification on February 3, 2021, about the free coaching provided to SC, ST category candidates. The department answered a list of questions and provided state-wise data of the number of successful candidates in various competitive examinations. These exams also included NEET, JEE Main and JEE Advanced/IIT JEE candidates as well. The annexures attached also mentioned the names of the coaching institutes providing free assistance to the deprived students.
The evaluation was done over a period of three years of students coming from SC, ST categories. In Assam, Chitale’s Personalised Learning Pvt. Ltd. Coming under the free coaching scheme reported 16 successful JEE Main students. In Bihar, the Gurukul Practise Centre in Gaya reported a total of 21 successful students, both IIT JEE and NEET included.
The MT Educare Ltd in Chandigarh reported a total of 37 students successfully clearing the NEET examination during three-year period. In Gujarat, there are two centres coming under the ambit of the free coaching scheme. The institutes are MT Educare Ltd. (Vadodara) reporting 46 JEE Main students and Aryan Foundation (Vadodara) having 38 NEET students successfully clearing the entrance exams.
The Himalayan Institute of Engineering and Technology also provided free JEE coaching to students. However, the institute has not reported the number of students clearing the exam. Karnataka again has two institutes providing free coaching assistance for NEET and JEE Main exams. The Global Education Trust in Mangalore reported a total of 47 successful NEET students and 59 JEE Main students. On the other hand, Aryan Foundation located in Mangalore reported 19 NEET students who have successfully cleared the exam. However, they have not reported any JEE students scoring well in the test.
The Disha Diya Education Centre in Madhya Pradesh informed that 10 of their IIT JEE students cleared the exam and 08 students cleared the national-level medical entrance exam. Maharashtra also has two institutes providing free coaching to deprived students. The Gurukul Practise Centre in Navi Mumbai submitted a combined data of both their institutes with the other one located in Bihar. The second institute called the Aryan Foundation, located in Borivali, Mumbai provides coaching for NEET. However, the institute did not report the number of students clearing the exam.
The Youth Step Forward Centre in Manipur reported 83 NEET students and 32 IIT JEE/AIEEE clearing their examinations. The Shine Institute of Odisha informed authorities that 22 of their students cleared the JEE/AIEEE examination. In Punjab, The MT Educare Ltd. reported 23 successful JEE students whereas the Global Education Trust reported 46 NEET and 37 JEE successful students.
Career point Ltd. in Rajasthan reported a total of 61 NEET students and 59 JEE students clearing their respective exams. In Uttar Pradesh, Pioneer Foundation reported 70 NEET and 66 JEE students. Moreover, the PMT Physics College in Lucknow informed the authorities that 58 NEET students and 20 JEE Students cleared the entrance exams.
