The Reserve Bank of India has issued a notification for inviting application for recruitment of candidates for the post of “Assistant” in various offices of the Bank. An online entrance test will be conducted for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2017 for 623 vacancies. Last year there were 610 vacancies, in 2015 there were 504 vacancies. Clearly, the number of vacancies have gone up for the Assistant Recruitment 2017.
The RBI Assistant Recruitment Application Form 2017 is available online. Candidates who possess a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply for the recruitment. The candidates who wish to apply for the post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office. The application are available from 18 October 2017. The application process including payment of the application fee is through online mode. To apply for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2017, applicants will have to pay Rs 50 (SC / ST / PWD / EXS) or Rs 450 (OBC / General), candidates.
Candidates can apply online at opportunities.rbi.org.in. The selection for the post of Assistant will be through a competitive examination which will be conducted in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Candidates have to qualify in all the three selection criterion. The RBI has announced the date for Online Preliminary Test as 27 & 28 November 2017. The Main Test shall be conducted on 20 December 2017.
The Preliminary test will be 1 hour duration in which candidates need to solve 100 multiple choice questions. The test will include questions from English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Whereas, the Main Test will consist of 200 objective type MCQ questions from, Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge.
Candidates should note that there will be a negative marking of 1/4th marks in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination) for each wrong answer. The candidates who will clear the Main examination, will be selected for Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Those who are not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
RBI shall also arrange combined pre-examination training at certain centres for a limited number of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. Those who will opt for pre-examination training will be informed about the training by the Regional Office.
The candidates selected for the post of Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 14650/- per month (i.e. Rs. 13150 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates) in the scale of 13150-750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)-26200-1300 (2)-28800- 1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years) and other allowances.
