RRB NTPC Vacancies Decreased

A notification saying Indian Railways is reducing the number of vacancies for RRB NTPC 2019 (CEN 01/2019) from 35,277 to 10,648 has gone viral. Several people have shared it on social media platforms in government job groups. However the notice is fake. Number of vacancies in the Non Technical Popular Category recruitment 2019 is same as it was notified in the revised vacancies notification in the month of May.

The viral notification says “This is to inform that indian railways is improving its infrastructure and giving priority to privatisation so hiring process will be through IRCTC. NTPC vacancies 2019 are decreased from 35,277 to 10,648 to decrease the burden on indian railways.Indian railways is committed to provide world class facilities to its passengers. ”

Although the notification seems fake just by looking at it. Even then, many candidates believed it because they were anyhow worried about why the exam dates of NTPC were delayed. Some candidates felt that this is the reason the exam was being delayed. This was probably also why many shared it with their friends immediately upon seeing it.

Truth is that Indian Railways is not decreasing NTPC vacancies. There is no such notification on any of the official websites of RRBs, or railway zones.

The last time that vacancies of NTPC were revised was on 10th May. As per the revised vacancy table, the RRB wise vacancies stand as follows. There are 1024 vacancies in RRB Ahmedabad, 1773 in RRB Ajmer, 4030 in RRB Allahabad, 2470 in RRB Bangalore, 997 in RRB Bhopal, 498 in RRB Bhubaneswar, 1207 in RRB Bilaspur, 2483 in RRB Chandigarh, 2694 in RRB Chennai, 1298 in RRB Gorakhpur, 851 in RRB Guwahati, 898 in RRB Jammu Srinagar, 2949 in RRB Kolkata, 1043 in RRB Malda, 3665 in RRB Mumbai, 329 in RRB Muzaffarpur, 1039 in RRB Patna, 1386 in RRB Ranchi, 3234 in RRB Secunderabad, 443 in RRB Siliguri, 897 in RRB Thiruvananthapuram.

In total there are 35,208 vacancies. Category wise vacancies are 15,111 for UR, 5,119 for SC, 2,768 for ST, 8,697 for OBC, and 3,503 for EWS.

Official latest news on RRB NTPC 2019 is that all the RRBs have published one new notification about delaying exam date. The official notification says “It was indicated in the employment notice that the 1st stage computer based test (CBT) is tentatively scheduled between June and September 2019. However, it has been postponed. The revised schedule will be published in the official websites of all RRBs later on. Candidates are advised to visit the official websites of RRBs regularly”.

Final application status of RRB NTPC 2019 for all candidates was released on September 6. Now first Indian Railways will announce exam dates. Then they will activate a link for candidates to login and check their city intimation and exam date. After that, all candidates will be able to download their admit cards before exam. It is expected that the admit card download for each test taker will be active, four days before his or her exam date.
